Bethel Woods — Restaurant in North Island

so I planned to visit bethelwoods as I saw interesting food pics on social médias ... The food tasted good but unfortunately the overall experience was a bit underwhelming ... to start with the staff could give more informations at order time to avoid any misunderstandings... I ordered the poutine fries and a burger, though it would have been nice if the waiter would have mentioned the burger already comes with fries or offer a fries upgrade like in a lot of places! Then the poutine fries were brought to me without gravy 🤔 same for the table next to me... So I had to get up and get the staff attention, wich came and told me the gravy must be under the fries, so I lift up the fries and there was nothing there... So the waitress asked if I wanted a jug of gravy?? "Hum yes please"😑 ! eventually gravy was brought without any apologies , the staff wasn't rude they just did not really care. although the burger(chicken) was tasty , the guacamole portion was really tight 🤨 in the end it was a good meal! Just felt a bit like unnecessary struggle 🤷🏻‍♀️ I also work in hospitality, and usually quite forgiving if it's rush time etc...but this...

Great venue and great service, but not great food. Chicken burger didn't taste like anything, like a flavourless piece of meat enveloped by supermarket coleslaw and burger buns even your family bbq wouldn’t buy. WOAP Brisket burger was good meat and bun wise but still missing some substance with the sauces. Smoothie was a combination of ice and fake berry syrup, a flavoured water at best.

Again, a wonderful venue and bar with cheap alcoholic drinks, but below average food that is overpriced, even for a bar. We understand during WOAP it is much busier than usual, but this shouldn’t warrant below average ingredients for the food. On a surface level, this seems a great place, but low quality food and obvious points where costs are being avoided at the expense of the customer experience really brings the whole experience down. These are faults entirely on the owners and higher ups, not at all attributed to the hardworking servers, bar staff, and cooks, who likely have little to no control over recipes for drinks or control over food...

Terrible attitude from one particular waitress.

I was served ice cold Americano (it could have been in the fridge. It was that cold) with ice cold milk next to it. When I took it back (and that's fine, mistakes happen) and said to the staff member behind the coffee machine with a SMILE - "sorry - you served me a cold coffee... It's like ice cold... " She snapped back and said "I" didn't make your coffee. I did not serve it to you either!

I said "you" as in the whole Bethel Woods staff... I didn't pay 100 percent attention who made it who served it. I also said "a smile would be nice!" Instead of one single apology, I was served the hot coffee by her without a word and a very grumpy attitude amking me feel terrible.

I have raised it with the manager Callum and I hope she has been told.

I am not ever going back again as I did find it very rude and made me feel terrible.
