Backpackers beware! I’ve had better showers while on remand in Long Bay jail (Sydney), for a crime I did not commit. Showers cost $3 for 5-minutes. But, first you gotta buy the KiwiCash key which is $5. Then you gotta load your account in multiples of $5. So, a 5-minute shower actually cost you $10 (not $3), or a 10-minute shower cost you $15 (not $6). I chose a 10-minute option, so I got ripped off $9. While in Long Bay, it would’ve cost me three cigarettes and a reach around to a bloke who doesn’t take no for an answer. There is no shower curtain, so when you step into the cubicle, you’re standing in other people’s shower water. Also, your clothes on the ample supply of hooks (a positive) end up getting wet. Plus, you’ve gotta be ridiculously short (well below adult average height, as estimated by the World Health Organisation (WHO)) for the shower rose to actually put water on your head; and the shower rose is not adjustable. On the plus side, the water temperature is good, and the shower facilities are new. But in many ways, the newness of the facilities should lend itself to higher standards. All in all, a bit quick and nasty.

A few things to consider before booking this camp: You'll need a kiwi cash fob (can be obtained online or in the petrol station just in front . Price = 6NZ) Then you'll need to create an account and sync it with the FOB (you can easily do it after buying it) You'll need to pay for everything there (3$ 10 min shower, water and stove) There's not much. A few spots to park, stove, shower and toilets.

Overall is not bad due to the price but be aware because there's not much information and it is...
