What a lovely night we had at the club. Donna the chef cooked us a vey hearty yummy dinner. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinners.We were made to feel very welcome and we chatted with the locals. It felt like we were being treated to a home cooked meal. Prices are very reasonable and bar staff were great. Go there for a meal, you won’t be disappointed and you are supporting a community club. Donna not only cooked our yummy dinner, she gave me some cream to soothe the zillion sandfly bites that were driving me to despair😩 Well Done! ...

No directions, no will to serve customers.

Waited at the bar for the slow staff to serve up a couple drinks. When finally my turn, she told me food is ordered at another counter. Waited at the counter for 7 mins, while this staff member walked around, clearing tables. She had no intuition to get someone from kitchen to serve us. Meanwhile, we could hear lots of talking from the kitchen. Since no service was rendered after such a long time, we walked out.

After long days driving around the Sth Island, was dying for a home cooked meal and found it at the Hokitika Chartered Club. $19, can get you a large Roast Beef meal, if available and piled up high! Veges cooked to perfection, cheese sauce unreal and roast beef and gravy is amazing. Beer is cold, $7.50 for a handle of Wild Buck and staff are friendly and helpful, locals are all good. Well...
