⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had a wonderful stay at the Beachfront Hotel in Hokitika! When we realised we’d booked the wrong room, the staff were incredibly kind and accommodating 💕they quickly helped us move to a lovely room on the third level, and we just paid the difference. Their service was exceptional from start to finish. 👌🤩 The restaurant had plenty of options, but since our dietary restrictions are quite specific, we didn’t end up eating breakfast or dinner there. We did, however, try the banana split for dessert and it was amazing we also were able to order it for takeaway ! Overall, we highly recommend this hotel for its great location, comfortable rooms, and genuinely helpful staff.

Great view if you book the expensive beach view room but at that price range you would expect a better cooling option than a loud fan which doesn’t really bring the temperature down in the sticky room. Of course you can open the balcony door if you don’t mind the sandflies….At least a window screen would have been appreciated! Therefore not recommended in summer when there is the chance of a hot day even on the West Coast of the South Island, which of course otherwise was awesome!

We had wonderful stay here, view is amazing especially from the upper level. Rooms are comfortable and the heated floor in the bathroom was a nice touch. On site restaurant is nice with a good selection. Staff are very friendly and helpful and special mention needs to go to the two cleaning ladies who keep the rooms absolutely spotless and were a barrel of laughs every time we saw them. Hokitika is a great place to stay and we loved our time here. Value for money was excellent.

Driftwood Twin Room. Matariki Weekend.

Fantastic service from very friendly and approachable staff. Didn't try the restaurant as we ran out of time, but we did intend to. Perfect location, with a very short (10sec) walk to the main street, with New World straight across the road, and Super Liquor in the carpark.

The room was alittle tatty in places (peeling paint etc), and lacked some basic amenities (plates, cutlery, microwave). Beds were very comfy though! Shower we found on the small side. Practical and clean, but rather tight if you are on the large-er end of the scale.

The carpark was the other drawback for us. Getting to it was alittle bit of a mission, going over some very sharp bumps. Then no signage (only verbal instructions from hotel staff) and a rather small entrance up a steep curb. The carpark could do with expansion aswell, as on the Saturday night it was very much full and overflowing to the next door vacant lot.

Don't let these things spoil your experience though! They are all minor issues that can be fixed relatively easily, and abit of TLC here and there would...

We booked an Ocean View Deluxe King Room for one night while we drove up the west coast from Wanaka to Nelson. We booked via the hotel website and checkin took 5 minutes. We really liked Hokitika, its defitintely a good option if you're driving the west coast. Our room on the 3rd floor had a small balcony and fab views over the beach. The room was large and had everything we needed. The bed was comfortable. Only 1 small negative, the safe was broken. Overall we thought the room was...
