I stayed here for 2 nights and I wish i had other option to move to another hotel. The location of the hotel is the only thing that is good about it. It’s in walking distance from the port and the shopping street, however all the rooms are above the pub/bar which has live performances every night after midnight. Additionally, the rooms are very outdated and are not price wise. The internet is not stable and secure. Firstly, I got offered a room which had no terrace, only 2 windows and both of them had view of a wall. The room was extremely dark and claustrophobic. Then, after a discussion with the receptionist, i got offered another room with slightly better conditions, it had a terrace, but again with view of a wall. Literally. I had to accept that option since i did not have another choice. We had breakfast included in the offer, however the breakfast offer was quite simple. The restaurant where the breakfast is served is very old and smelly. Starting from the furniture to the interior, everything smelled like cigarettes and outdated wood. The food was very basic, not many options available for vegetarians/vegans. There was no option for plant based milk (only cow milk), the coffee machine was VERY old, probably from the 20th century, therefore the quality of it was DISGUSTING. There was only orange juice available also from a MACHINE which was extremely old and the quality was very bad, it tasted like a chemical. The food was limited, often it was not enough for everyone, and it was not served well, the bread and all the other stuff was not covered with anything so flies were all over the food. The staff was not friendly at all, indeed, when I reported about the conditions of the first room that I was offered, one of the receptionist was very arrogant and disrespectful to me. However, ONLY the cleaning ladies were extremely friendly and nice. When I checked out, they tried to charge me additional 500mkd, allegedly I purchased food during my stay, WHICH WAS NOT TRUE. Once i said that I haven’t purchased anything, they said “oh okay” and didn’t double checked if there was a mistake or not, so I had the feeling that they just wanted to try if it would work with me or not. Overall, i would not recommend this hotel at all, the price is not worth the services they are offering. They need to invest in the hotel in order to keep up with the...
Read moreWe enjoyed our stay here. We had a lovely clean room overlooking the lake, we were worried it would be noisy with bars and the restaurant, but the double glazing did a great job of keeping the noise out! Good job as it was extremely busy and lively! The room was cleaned daily with plenty of towels and bedding changes. Internet was excellent.||Breakfast was fine, really good selection of hot and cold, cereal, fruit etc, although the hot plates only kept food aired, not hot. Regular top ups, always plenty.||Dinner was OK, limited choice if on half board, salad or soup starters, main and a pudding. The waiters seemed to favour guests who were not staying in the hotel, we could wait ages for attention while they looked after potential better tippers! Some of the waiters were a bit sullen but given the long hours they seem to work, we could sympathise!||We only used the spa once, not sure of treatments available etc.||We found the area lovely, some absolutely beautiful areas, but some not so lovely mixed in. Derelict grafitti-ed hotels and gardens next to modern hotels, sign of the times and the country's financial situation presumably. Old couples selling flowers and herbs and home made cakes, young mums with children begging from restaurant customers.||Lovely shops, loads of pearls and silver. Shop owners keen to please, could be seen as pushy but probably desperate for customers! Boat trips, water activities, paragliding all available.||Would we return - yes,...
Read moreI stopped in Ohrid for one night and chose Hotel Tino with a friend as it was on the lake front. Overall this hotel was a massive disappointment, the only positives were that the prices were low (off season), it had a spa (which we didn't use) and free parking outside the front (which we did use).||The staff at check in were pleasant and helpful, however I booked a room on Booking.com which advertised a lake view. The first room smelt stale so we asked to change, the second was OK and the third also didn't seem appealing. None of the rooms had a view of the lake. The bathroom lock was broken and the shower holder wasn't strong enough to hold the shower head.||Although we didn't eat in the restaurant in the evening we had some drinks in the furthest corner to get away from the cigarette smoke. At breakfast time when we arrived the tables at the font section of the restaurant all had ashtrays, the far side by the side didn't so we sat there, and for a while it was adequate. The breakfast spread was a standard buffet, it was pretty good. Until on the next table a guest decided to light up a cigarette. That was the final straw and left my breakfast half uneaten.||Note to the management: A lot of visitors are non smokers, if you really must allow some people to smoke, then inconvenience them, have a smoking section and a non-smoking section so guests (particularly those with children) can actually...
