Wow! what an amazing boutique hotel! I was trepidatious because finding a hotel in Cusco that isn't one of the three big american names was stressful, but we liked this place more than if we would have stayed in the overpriced big chains!
It super cute with a breezeway leading in from the street lined with plants, leading to an indoor courtyard area where the check-in counter was. Heidi was our main person we saw there every day, and she was so friendly and caring. When we checked in she immediately asked how we were feeling to see if altitude was effecting us. And then another staff member brought us coca tea right away!
Our room was on the second floor above the check-in area and we had no problems with noise from the courtyard (though we weren't there over the weekend). The room was really nice with the bed in the loft area. Wifi worked well. They held our bags as we did a one night hike for Machu Picchu. Cabs, buses, and vans, seemed to have no problems navigating the street in front.
We just loved the complimentary breakfast every morning in the courtyard. I can not recommend this place enough,...

We stayed here twice (3 nights + 4 nights) in two different rooms. Unfortunately, both stays were disappointing.
The breakfast was basic but okay – you choose one dish and get coffee/tea and juice. However, service was painfully slow. Several times our coffee arrived after we had finished eating.
Room issues were numerous:
One room was uneven – we literally rolled a ball from one side to the other.
The bathroom had a persistent bad smell (confirmed by other guests).
Towels had holes and bathroom finishing was very poor.
Insects in the room (not bedbugs, but still unpleasant).
Very noisy – everything from the courtyard echoed straight into the room.
Payment was another low point: they charge a 5% fee for paying by card, and only tell you this after booking. They pushed for cash and even asked us to cancel our Booking.com reservation to book directly with them for an 8% “discount”.
Overall, this place is overpriced for what you get. We wouldn’t stay again and strongly advise others to...
Read moreWe had a perfect stay at Casa Cristobal 🙂 check in was easy, and the front desk staff was friendly and helpful with all of our bags and boots. We had just come back from the 4 day Inca trail hike, and this was everything you'd want afterwards. Clean room, huge comfy bed with warm blankets, spacious shower with lots of hot water, and peace and quiet at night. To top it all off, breakfast (which is included!) was so delicious. I had a grilled peach caprese with scrambled eggs and finished it all in a matter of minutes - so good! The chef even prepared my friend and I an extra eggplant and olive oil dish complimentary which was equally tasty. I wish we could've stayed longer. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Cusco, especially if you're looking for somewhere to really treat yourself after some...
