Nice historic building half way up narrow Calle Chiuampata only a few minutes walk from Plaza de Armas. There are great views over the city and the surrounding mountains from the breakfast area on the top floor. The breakfast was included but I couldn’t say it was any good. Just the usual bread, butter and jam with tea or coffee. There was free wifi in the hostel which worked most of the time and also a PC terminal in reception. ||||The lighting in our room wasn’t good but I put this down to the building being so old and having few and tiny windows. The room had cable tv which was good as I was ill for a couple of days so it was nice to be able to recover in bed whilst watching tv. The bathroom was a problem though. For some reason water came up through the floor and so the floor was always wet. It seemed to be something to do with the toilet which just didn’t seem to be very hygienic. We asked them to fix it but it still happened. I’d still recommend staying here as the price is good but I’d maybe avoid room 22. Staff were helpful and friendly and we were able to store our luggage in a locked room for free for an entire week whilst we went to Macchu Picchu and the Sacred Valley. The hostel would score higher if not for the...
Read moreThe rooms are not matching with the pictures in Google / Booking. We had a stinky room in the ground floor without any windows. We told the receptionist that the room really stinks (i think from the pipes) but he said that was not true, because no one ever told him before? 🤣 And that he couldn't move us to another room because it was fully booked, but there were still rooms available on Booking.com. The next morning he offered everyone breakfast, but not for us. We are staying in Cusco for at least one week, but we were more than happy to leave after one night and find another place to stay. WiFi also not working well, not in the rooms and also not in de restaurant. Two stars for the location...
Read moreMy friend and I stayed at this hostel for four nights (prior to doing the Inca trail). We had one warm shower between us in the four days. Our room was cold and the reception was just outside our door. Staff would play music and talk outside our room until the early hours of the morning. The hostel was safe and the staff were nice enough but this is not an ideal hostel. While it was cheap, once we moved hostels we found you didn't have to pay much more for a really nice room. Also breakfast was very...
