I have to admit, I felt really at home here. Diego, Helga and everyone were so nice and helpful. Diego gave me so much advice about what to do and how to get about and which tours etc. He also gave me the confidence to explore the Sacred Valley on my own and do Machu Picchu myself. ||||The rooms were very clean, they were well kept and were comfortable. I had a 4 bed room, they have single beds which was nice with basic hanging facilities but there was never 4 of us in the room, so it was fine. The only downside to the room was that you can hear the beeping early morning outside, the roads are quite narrow and so if a car is in the way, then people beep. But it was fine, I was able to still rest. ||||The only other negative was the bathroom, as the hot water was so difficult to get right. You had to really get the setting perfect, otherwise it would be cold again. So Diego helped me get it right. The bathrooms were clean overall though.||||The breakfast was lovely. Eggs with some nice touches, a bit of fruit, always some traditional homemade twist and a little smoothie. i enjoyed that. Though I did supplement it with my own food, porridge. There was always tea and coffee available, which I availed myself of regularly. ||||The place is slightly higher up, but it was fine to get to. Everything was walkable and I really enjoyed my stay here. I would definitely recommend this place and I felt Diego looked after me and helped with all the logistics. ||||I also met some lovely travellers here too so could get there experiences and decide on how to approach the various activities around Cusco.||||I left my bags there while I went to Machu Picchu and they looked after them and put my valuables in a safe. I came back afterwards and got my same room and felt so at home again...
Read more· The hostel is cute and spotless, the cleanliness was the best we have seen. It also has hot water (albeit a very weak stream).
· It's further away from the city center, up a very steep hill, it was not very convenient when walking around the city. Breakfast is very simple and the same every day - some variety would be appreciated. Our rooms was tiny, with no storage space. There are also no lockers or proper luggage storage. The TV ran EVERY DAY from 10 AM to 10 PM in the common room - I am not a fan of continuous background noise.
We also had a bit of a situation when we arrived - on our fist day we got in very early, at 6 AM. Since official check-in was later, we waited and politely asked to have breakfast switched from our last day to the first day because on the last day we had to leave for our trek at 4 AM. This turned out to be a HUGE PROBLEM because breakfast is ALWAYS on the next days, the owners make NO exceptions to their own rules. This was quite puzzling to us since all other hostels where we requested this substitution did not have any problems at all - it is the same number of breakfasts after all. The manager was also quite rude accusing us of trying to manipulate his staff and asking them to give us breakfast which was not true. Overall, our stay did not start on...
