From my perspective, the price of the hotel feels a bit high compared to the quality of the facilities and services provided. Here’s a short summary of our stay: the first room we were given had not been properly cleaned, with visible dust under the beds.
Several amenities also didn’t work, such as the bedside lamps, the TV, and the WiFi signal, which did not reach the room. Thankfully, the receptionist was very kind and promptly reassigned us to another room. However, this second room was noticeably smaller than what we had booked, leaving little space for our belongings and movement. In addition, it lacked hangers, had poor ventilation, a strong humidity odor, and the bed was not very comfortable. The WiFi connection was still weak.
Overall, the hotel seems to operate with a budget-oriented approach. For example, the bedding and toiletries felt quite basic, and unfortunately, the noise levels made it difficult to rest properly. On a positive note, the staff were always friendly, welcoming, and eager to help, which we truly appreciated. However, the infrastructure itself does not quite match the rates being charged. If you’re only staying one night and find a room for around 20€, it could be a reasonable option. Otherwise, I would suggest looking into...
Read moreLiz, the receptionist, met me at the train station. It was very easy to find her with her beautiful smile and a large sign with my name on it. She politely insisted on pulling my suitcase as we walked to the hotel not too far away. She was friendly and helpful, especially when I asked about getting a massage. She promptly made an appointment for me as we walked. That was awesome, because I was able to drop my bags and head right back out.
The hotel was so clean and soooo nice. I believe it might have been the nicest hotel in Machupicchu from what I observed as I walked throughout the little town.
Jorge, the manager, greeted me right away upon arrival and even walked me to and from the massage. That was exceptional.
Breakfast the next morning was made to order and delicious (and included!).
My room was impeccably clean and perfectly comfortable. The bathroom was newly remodeled with an awesome shower.
I can’t say enough good things about Hotel Mamasara. This is the place to stay if you’re expecting top quality accommodations and above and beyond customer service.
Thank you Jorge for...
