Devayn's Inn — Hotel in El Nido

Stayed here beginning of May 2019 for 3 nights. Rooms are small but okay what you pay for with little storage room but a nice size balcony - we had a partial sea view from there if you know what that means... We couldn’t hear any neighbors and even though they are doing constructions it was reasonably quite during day and night. Aircon and Fan are very laud though and could get improvements to be less noisy. To comment on a previous reviewer: yes we also had power outages and then the aircon is down as their backup generator is only powering the fan and lights - as soon as the general electricity is back on also the aircon works again - very understandable why that is- however they should inform you about this at check in...Service was mixed - check in was disorganized and some staff just does not care about guest but when it was raining they sometimes went all out to get us an umbrella. Stayed in Devayn's Inn last night having walked in off the street and asked if they had an air conditioned room for two people. They said yes they did have an air conditioned room, no problem. El Nido is prone to power cuts which means that sometimes the air conditioning is out which is fine and completely understandable. However we realised when the power was back on in the rest of the town but the air conditioning was not on in our room that they were controlling when the air conditioning came on. We had air conditioning from 11:30pm (but at this stage our room was stifling) to around 9am. My friend and I went to this hotel on the 7th and were happy to finally find a room to stay in on the 10th-11th. We payed more than half of the total price on the 7th but when we arrived on the 10th they told us they didn't have a room for us. The reason was because the people who stayed in our room the night before wanted one more night. |We had no information about that our booking was cancelled. Don't know what else we could have done to get the room we booked and payed for. |Very disrespectful to do this since we suddenly had no room for the night when we knew that it was hard to find a room even three days earlier.
