Lovely staff doing there best to try to make the visit pleasurable.||However, I can’t stress enough how awkward and rude the German owner, Olaf was during our visit.||Firstly he tried to charge my wife and I for damage caused by sun lotion staining to towels, robe and bedding. He stated that he needed £135 to buy new bedding in Manila to replace the “damaged” goods. He eventually accepted £65 for further cleaning. The reason he agreed to reduce this ridiculous charge was he was failed to provide hot water for showering whilst getting ready to go out in the evening!||Olaf, also insisted that all bills were paid in cash. He even insisted that we contact Booking.com to say that we didn’t turn up, i.e a no-show!||We had booked to return to Alona Beach, after attending our daughters wedding at the lovely Mithi resort.||This time I stayed at Olaf’s, “luxury villa”, with my wife and along with my wife’s brother and his family.||The villa downstairs was at best adequate, but upstairs spartan with not even a toilet or any facilities.||My brother-in-law complained to Olaf, but once again Olaf up to his true self said “it was our problem” and insisted on full OTT payment again in cash. My brother-in-law offered to pay a reasonable amount for the accommodation, but at that point any form of reasonable negotiation failed, so no payment was made. Olaf was next spotted at the airport insisting on full payment in cash or he would block my brother-in-laws family departure.||Basically the man is unscrupulous and should not be exploiting tourists. Not an asset to the local...
Read moreAlona’s Coral Garden is a wonderfully peaceful resort with a central contoured pool with a waterfall feature and also a villa with its own pool, which is where we stayed. The villa had plenty of space inside including a large bathroom with walk-in shower, a fully equipped kitchen and an attractive raised living room area with a large dinning table and also a reclining couch with a TV. The onsite Rumor Draft Bar and Restaurant is excellent for drinks and a top quality mix of European and local cuisines with a daily chef’s special and it opens at 16:00 so makes an ideal place to sit and plan your evening or end up staying! The staff are so helpful and willing to assist with any request and the owner is exceptionally engaging and you can see how his family passion keeps the quality of the experience so high. Do try the “beer flight” for a Fillipino take on different beer styles and there is even a cider to try as well. You can walk down to Alona beach in 5 mins or wander up to the main road and walk into town that way past plenty of places to eat. We arranged a bespoke tour via reception (Krystal and Shine) and also an in villa massage both of which were perfect. I would highly recommend staying here to experience the serenity of a villa yet still being in walking distance of everything Alona Beach...

Overall, the hotel was beautiful and kept up well for the price! There was just little inconvenient things that I wish were addressed for a better vacation. I would still come back and bring friends here, but if you want to be in the middle of the action on the beach, Alona Beach Rd is the middle of the beach where Alona Sunrise Travel and Tours is! There is no sidewalk on the road, so having to go in and out for breakfast or lunch was not as convenient as I...
