I always like to start with the positives, but in this case, there were none.
From the moment we arrived, the experience was disappointing. The surrounding area was unkempt, dirty, and severely degraded. Reaching the property was a challenge—the road leading to the hotel was practically nonexistent, making it difficult for our driver to pass. Upon arrival, we had to navigate dangerously steep steps to get down to the reception, which itself was another dirty and unwelcoming space.
Once inside, things didn’t improve. The room had a strong pesticide smell, yet it failed to be effective as we still found insects inside. The toilet bowl was shockingly small—something I have never encountered before. The furniture was outdated, and the overall interior felt more like a makeshift setup in a home with minimal effort or consideration for guests. There was no hairdryer provided unless specifically requested. Housekeeping was nonexistent unless you explicitly asked, meaning trash and dirt remained untouched.
The breakfast was repetitive and uninspired—rice, eggs, and frozen vegetables straight from the bag. The only variation was the protein option, which rotated between corned beef, longganisa, or ham.
The air conditioning unit was far too small to cool the room adequately, and the main electrical wire was wrapped in layers of electrical tape—a clear safety concern. There were two electric fans provided, which might be useful for some, but I personally dislike them.
One of the main reasons I chose this property was because of reviews mentioning it being quiet. Unfortunately, that was not the case. Loud and disruptive noise from people on the front beach lasted well past midnight, and the management did nothing to address it. Additionally, the beach itself was overcrowded with boats early in the morning, as it served as a pickup point for island-hopping tours. The constant motor noise made for an unpleasant atmosphere.
The property is in dire need of maintenance. The shower water splashed everywhere with no proper drainage. To make matters worse, during our stay, there was ongoing construction on the beach, where they were raising a wall directly in front of the hotel, adding to the chaos. Overall, this was a highly disappointing experience. I cannot recommend this property in its current state and that costed us Php Php 4.5k night. Staff are kind but do not seem happy and they do not seem to have proper hospitality training. This is a genuine and personal experience, i was expecting the place to reflect the listing picture and 2stars accommodation this was...
Read moreI and my family was in Bohol, purposely to enjoy the beach of Alona, Panglao, Bohol, Philippines. Some freinds adviced me not to go to Alona as the beach line is noisy and bit crowded. Hotel resorts rooms are far from the beach and some are away even from view of the prestine white sand. But, I came accross a small resort at the end of Alona its name is Blue Ocean Beach Resort,. I brought my family in this place and it was a perfect resort to stay for me and my family. It's service is very good. It perfectly fits our needs and expectations. Simple but very clean, good airconed and big room all the basics were there. But what we enjoyed so much is the direct unobstructed view from our room window and balcony. The white beach line and sparkling sea with beautifull boats and bankas moored near the beach line. Just 60 steps away from our room the sparkling water. The beach swiming is a distance from the big crowed enjoying the beach so it was a peacefull swiming experience for the family. Many Caucasians staying at nearby resorts goes to our front beach area to enjoy the peacefull Sun Bathing. If we need to go for lunch and dinner, we just walk a hundred meters away from our hotel to enjoy the foods in the restaurants beside the Alona beach line. During the night we stroll up to the beach line where Haeinnan Beach Resort is located and enjoy the lights, the free nightly band concerts to choose from along the line. The beauty of night life of the Alona Beach that includes the "Red Lights".and Organic delicious Ice Creams of Bee Farm Store. After that, we retreat back to our place just few minutes walk away from madenning crowed and noise to enjoy the peacefull nicely lighted night swiming and rest. WHAT A VERY BEAUTIFUL EXPERIENCE AT BLUE OCEAN BEACH RESORT,...
Read moreWorst experience. We stayed here for 1 week. we booked direct with the owner via facebook and made special arrangements as a we were celebrating 3 birthdays. we booked and made a 50% deposit and reserved rooms 1 and 2 the far right room next to each other(this was agreed upon). After making payment the owner was unresponsive. When we got there it was hard to find as the back road was blocked and we had to carry our baggages down the steps to the side entrance.
When we got there they prioritized other people who got there earlier. They gave us separate OLD ROOMS where the aircon was behind a bunk bed and could not get proper air circulation. Everything that was metal had rust and was rotting. EVEN THE TISSUE HOLDER.
INTERNET WAS BAD / SIGNAL WAS BAD
The manager said she had no Idea we had made arrangements with the owner and DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO TALK TO GUESTS. Worst experience ever. service took ages and everything you need you had to go to their "pantry". Not even a kettle was provided in each room. Breakfast was served cold and flies everywhere.
in the morning the beachfront was full of boats and was noisy. Lots of stray dogs. It was a mess.
take your money elsewhere because obviously the management and the owner doesn't care about...
