We stayed for 4 nights in La Sirenita. We picked this resort because it is right at the beach and close to Bohol Divers Club where we went diving with. I am very happy with my choice. Along the very busy Alona beach there are abundance of resorts, but, you never know if you could pick the one which is close to all the main activities while quiet enough to allow you to sleep at night, right? This resort is situated at the tail of the main beach, which served my wish of "close to everything but also quiet".
Drivers at the pier knew the exact location of the resort, I don't need to tell them the address. We entered the resort from the gate, we did not have to drag our lugguage on the sandy road (I need to in Malapascua). The garden, shared with next door resort, is very well maintained. Our room is on upstairs, the tiles of the stairs is so lovely that I actually looked forward to walk on it every morning and took a few photos.
The room with two twin beds is spacious and I was amazed by its cleanliness. I could run around even with two opened suitcases. Our window could see thr garden AND the ocean. The view is GREAT. The main reason I wrote this review is their stand-up fan. Very rarely to be seen in a hotel room, the fan is excellent for washed cloths and equipment, especially for divers and beach goers. All cloths and towels are dried within half a day. Besides the fan, they have installed outdoor rope that you could hang your cloths under the sun. This is the main reason I highly recommend this resort. I literally feel their warm welcome with this attentive and considerate equipment.
By the way, book a car from resort to pier is P900, while book a taktak is P600. I think the price is...
Read moreThis hotel is a fantastic pick if you’re looking for a spacious, comfy room with a smart TV perfect for unwinding with Netflix after a long day. The garden is a lovely spot to enjoy breakfast, which gets chosen the night before, so you always know you’re starting the day with fresh and tasty options.
The location is spot-on, especially if you’re into diving as all the dive centers are walking distance. It’s a prime meeting point every morning, making things super convenient. Plus, while it's near the beach, it’s tucked away from noisy areas, so you get the best of both worlds close to the action but still peaceful.
Now, about the road leading to the hotel it’s a bit bumpy, but honestly, that’s the case for most places around here, so it’s nothing out of the ordinary. The staff are incredibly friendly, helpful, and always ready to assist, which adds a lot to the overall experience.
For what you pay, the quality is great, making it excellent value. The only thing missing? A swimming pool. If they had one, this place would be near perfect. Also, heads up, you’ll need to pay in cash or via bank transfer, as credit cards aren’t accepted, so plan accordingly.
All in all, a solid choice if you're looking for comfort, convenience, and a...
Read moreI have been traveling to Bohol and the Philippines for years. I really love La Sirenita Dive Resort and would recommend to anyone traveling to Bohol and Alona. The rooms are comfortable, the staff is professional and friendly and the location is great. Everyone has their own taste in accommodations so I'll say if you're looking for something that is cost effective, well taken care of and a great staff, this is your place. I appreciated the location as it is toward the end of Alona and away from some of the crowds but close enough to enjoy all the local fun. I also appreciated the flexibility in extending my stay and making reservations. Super easy to coordinate through email or WhatsApp. Other reviewers have commented on payment - paying cash is totally fine with me. I prefer spending on places that are more local and completely trust their operations and logistics. Any need I had, they were ready to accommodate. When I'm in Bohol and traveling for some dive excursions this will...
