If I could give this place a zero star review, I would.
First of all, the food was bland, some dishes were served cold, and it took an hour and a half to arrive. Second of all, drinks were forgotten and also took at least an hour to arrive. When food finally came, half the orders were missing and the last meal that one of our guests was waiting for (after we had all finished our meals) came cold on a “sizzling” plate with extremely bland and unsatisfying flavours.
Some tasting notes of each dish that we had tried:
-Korean fried chicken: abomination to Korean fried chicken. Tastes more like sweet and sour chicken. -Fish taco: nothing special, it was edible at least. -Fish and chips: tartar sauce tasted like lady’s choice (Filipino mayo) -Shawarma kebab: cold, sad looking mashed potatoes, served with warm vegetables, and dry beef kebabs with -0 flavour -burger: bland patty -calamari: not sure (tried to order it) and apparently the last table downstairs ordered it last
I’d say their pizza was the best (?) item on their menu.
Drinks were mediocre, mango shake was good.
To top off our night a cockroach landed on my arm and when informing management about it, they responded with “we are working on it”.
Service was slow but our server was nice and we’ll give him kudos for his good effort.
We understand service is generally slower here in the Philippines but all of these poor experiences that piled up throughout the night was just frustrating, disappointing and not worth the money. At all.
Do not be fooled by the cozy, fancy looking decor. The vibes are giving but the food is giving cafeteria vibes.
Save your money and time and walk towards the other side of the...
Read moreOkyanus in Panglao initially drew me in with its inviting atmosphere, and over time, it became a go-to spot where I introduced friends and visitors to its offerings. As a loyal patron of their sister establishment, Kajun, I often indulged in their Philly cheesesteak and hot wings—both dishes I’ve enjoyed countless times both on-site and via delivery. However, my recent experience with Okyanus has left me deeply disappointed, leading to a complete reassessment of my support for this business.
On a particular visit, I was asked to move away from their tables on the beach. This alone might not have been a major issue if it weren’t for the fact that the area in question is part of the public domain under Philippine law, specifically Panglao’s regulations regarding Alona Beach. The insistence that their supposed property extended onto the stairs of the public beach struck a nerve. It wasn’t just a misunderstanding—it felt like a blatant disregard for the community and its rights.
While the food might still be commendable, this kind of overreach and disregard for local laws has left a bitter taste. I can no longer support Okyanus or their sister establishment, Kajun, knowing how they seem to prioritize profit and control over respect for shared spaces and the very community they serve. For me, dining out is about more than just good food—it’s about values, respect, and connection. Unfortunately, Okyanus has failed on that front. I will not be returning or recommending...

The food was delicious! We tried the chicken tacos and chicken quesadilla, and even our two daughters couldn’t get enough of them – they were a big hit with the whole family. The menu offers great variety and everything we ordered was fresh and flavorful.
This is a really nice restaurant – perfect for both casual meals and special evenings. We would highly recommend Okyanus to anyone visiting Panglao, especially if you're near Alona Beach. It’s definitely a place worth...
