Absolutely love this hotel. The room had a small hallway with storage, and the bathroom and bedroom led off it.|The bathroom was spacious, although the shower tray seemed to slope down a bit, which was odd at first.|The bedroom was huge by UK standards and had a sofa and two chairs, plus a small desk area.|From the balcony, you could see the top of one of the towers of Wawel Castle. We were in room 22, and I understand that room 32 had a good view of the castle.|There was a kettle in the room, so we drank a cup of black tea every morning. There was also bottled water provided.|Everything about the hotel was clean.|The breakfast was very good, with plenty of choice. The lady in the breakfast room was very nice.|The location was very good. The walk over the river, with Wawel Castle to the side, was very pleasant. There were two little park areas on the route to the main square, and we sat and people watched. Being less fit than we once were, it took us quite a bit longer than the 18 minutes Google suggests. It is less than a mile from the hotel to the main square.|The main square has many options for lunch or dinner, and we ate in various restaurants during our stay. Only one gave us a physical bill, so it is worth totting up beforehand, as we are sure we were overcharged in at least one of them. They also add a 10% service charge, although the one that gave us the bill also gave us the option to pay for the food without the service charge. |Soft drinks seem very expensive in all the restaurants we went to.|The minor downsides to the hotel are that the WiFi was a bit slow, and the reception staff were not very patient, either at check-in or check out. Being English, and in our 70s, we did not know their systems, and we definitely felt irritation from the members of staff. |Having said this, I still...
Read moreFrom the moment we booked the customer service was fabulous. We requested an airport to hotel transfer for 4 which they kindly arranged with no fuss and when we arrived (approximately 20 mins from airport) we were greeted warmly by the reception staff.||We were allocated room number 41 right at the top of the hotel under the eaves. It had a sloping roof and only skylights in the bedroom, which my daughter found a little claustrophobic.||The mini suite also had a little lounge to relax in with double doors that opened onto the bedroom. The bathroom, lounge and bedroom were modern and sleek with comfortable beds and sofas and everything was very clean.||The T.V. in the bedroom had no English channels and the T.V. in the lounge only Russia Today in English and BBC in English which meant you had the choice of the news or the news!||The free WIFI was intermittent in our room (but in the room below it worked fine).||The breakfast was a plentiful continental selection with a few hot choices of sausage or eggs. ||Walking distance from the main square is about 15 mins and mind you don't get run over by the bicycles!||The VERY BEST thing about this hotel is the staff.||We needed a corkscrew they found one for us. Ice for the room? No trouble. Directions to the dentist and ordering of taxis to and from - done. Happy, cheerful and always up for a chat - faultless...
Read morestayed there 3 times. it's four out of five because there some minor and medium flaws: the wifi is not reliable - says 'Connected, no Internet' or 'Low quality'. No, my Pixel 5 is totally fine, it's about the router and the network in the bathroom the ventilation fan was too old or not maintained properly - noisy some stupid irrelevant manuals in barhroom: how to wash hands, how to use protective gloves - just printed and put into files, no any attempt to make them pretty. Considering it was May 2022, they look excessive. Notes about only 1 person in the elevator in the same style (again, May 2022, the restrictions were lifted). The list of TV channels as well. This kills 'boutique-ness', really. Pls pay attention to details. the AC didn't have a remote control. Maybe it was lost, maybe it was too early season to turn it on, maybe they are trying to reduce costs (i think May is good enough for that). Maybe just about my room. the kingsize bed was fake: just two single beds put together. And it actually could be sensed. Maybe just in my room. only two small towels for face body and one for feet/floor were given. Mmm.. okay
Pros: clean, good and relatively quite location, quite good breakfast,...
