Ah yes, the bathroom setup was truly something special. No shower screen, no curtain—just a lone shower head perched over a bathtub, boldly defying all logic. If you fancied a shower, the first step was a fun little game of “towel the floor,” in a desperate attempt to hold back the inevitable flood. Spoiler: it never worked. After every shower, you'd find yourself on hands and knees, mopping up the Great Bathroom Lake like some sort of domestic warrior. Honestly, it was an experience. Unforgettable… for all the wrong reasons.||The culinary offerings didn’t redeem much either. I’d highly recommend the cook considers the radical idea of actually turning on the pan when making scrambled eggs. What I received was more of a warm egg smoothie—sloppy, suspiciously runny, and impressively under cooked. When I politely inquired what exactly it was, I was assured (with confidence!) that it was scrambled eggs. Bold claim. Very bold.||But by far the most frustrating part of our stay was the complete lack of accountability from the staff. They booked our excursion incorrectly, which ended up costing us over £200. Despite this being their error, we were met with blame, denial, and a palpable disinterest in making things right. I even asked the manager to check the security footage (which, conveniently, points directly at the relevant area) to clear things up—something that could have easily resolved the matter. But that was clearly too much trouble. It became abundantly clear they were more interested in covering for their colleague than in resolving the issue or owning their mistake.||For a hospitality business, the lack of basic responsibility and customer care was staggering. Things go wrong sometimes—that’s understandable. But how those issues are handled makes all the difference. In this case, they failed completely.||If you value your time, money, or sanity, I'd recommend...
Read moreLet me start by saying that it's a very comfortable and perfectly located hotel - a walking distance to everything you need: the main square, lots of points of interest, restaurants, bars, park, train station, shopping mall - you name it, it's there! It also feels very safe day or night. It's off a side street with little outside noise. We were on the second floor facing the street and with the windows closed, it was totally quiet and relaxing. There's an all-day coffee and tea service in the lobby. The staff are nice and the breakfast offers a good assortment of options. There's also a small gym - it has the basics though. With that being said, I'm struggling, however, to see what gives the hotel a 4-star rating. We stayed in a room with two twin beds and while very clean, everything about it was minimalistic: basic bedding - one thick pillow and a thin comforter - nothing luxurious, no blackout blinds - just curtains that still let the light through, no facial tissue anywhere in the room or bathroom, no safe, no iron/ironing board, no room in the bathroom to put your toiletries (except a toothbrush and toothpaste) so you need to keep it all outside the bathroom, no hair conditioner. There is one outlet by each bed and no USB ports for charging electronics. The room has vinyl flooring throughout. It reminded me of an Ibis room rather than a 4-star establishment. In summary - while there's nothing wrong with the hotel, it doesn't have the features/amenities 4-star hotels typically offer therefore, it shouldn't be advertised as such. If it were a lower category, I would have given it a higher rating. However, as a 4-star hotel, it doesn't live up to its standards - thus 3...
Read moreWe stayed at Hotel H12 for 7 nights in August 2025. The lady who checked us in was very friendly and efficient. Our room was on the third floor, and we were pleased when we first walked in and saw the room. The hotel is clean and fresh. ||The negative aspect of this hotel is that the floors are hard. I have no idea why some hotels do not have carpet, or at least a rug, on the floor in the rooms. We could hear people walking around very clearly in the rooms around us. I have no idea what they were doing, but the people above us seemed to be moving furniture around until the early hours of the morning each night! I also found the bed very hard and uncomfortable, but my husband found it comfortable, so maybe this was just personal preference. The only other negative about this hotel is that, although the lifts seemed to be quiet, they beep extremely loudly when the doors open at each floor. There was no need for this to happen as it only disturbed everyone in the hotel.||There are many positives about this hotel too. The hotel is fairly small, which we liked. The breakfast is good and is served in a nice room. Even in the middle of August, breakfast was not busy. The staff are friendly and efficient. The hotel is in an EXCELLENT location, close to the centre of Krakow, but also not too close - a few streets away from the old town square. It is immaculate inside and complimentary bottled water is provided in the rooms each day. There is complimentary tea, coffee and water available near the...
