It as a lovely stay at Pinhão apartment. I would come back to the same apartment if coming back to Lagos.
Location: The location is wonderful, a few min walking to boardwalk along amazing coastlines . Parking is easy in front of the apartment and driving to other site seeing place is easy. 7 mins walking to a decent grocery shop (spar). A few min driving to a nice large supermarket (intermarché)
Staff: Staff are very nice. Pedro is one of the most friendly hosts I have met.. Actually we were late due to some car issue but Pedro waited for us to give a personal welcome, which was very warm. He is also very accessible on WhatsApp all the time. During our stay a cleaning lady came to exchange towels, she was also very friendly.
Rooms: The view from the room was wonderful. I enjoyed very much watching the sea from the sofa in living room, from dinning table or from the bench on the balcony. We had a one bedroom apartment, I really like the separation of bedroom as it can maintain the bedroom quiet and dark when one of us was not sleeping. The shutter in the bedroom kept all light out, making the bedroom cozy for sleeping. Kitchen has most of necessary electronics: kettle, coffee machine, stove, microwave, toasters. Also there are basic cooking stuff like oil, vinegar and salt, very considerate.
A few things that could improve the experience: Bathroom gliding door is loose and wobbling which made lots of noise I personally prefer to have a thin curtain for living room instead of the shutter that completely block the view For kitchen a few kits would be useful: a brush with handle to brush greasy pan, a drying rack to dry washed dishes, a mop with long handle to mop the floor (easily dirty near sink). Kitchen space is very limited, but I guess it is difficult to change this, perhaps the top of the shelf can be used to place some electrics like coffee machine, water kettle and toaster, then the countertop near the stove can have slightly more space.
Nothing really bad but perhaps a few personal suggestions that I think would improve the living experience: -Bathroom gliding door is loose and wobbling which made lots of noise -I personally prefer to have a thin curtain for living room instead of the shutter that completely block the view. -There are power suckers everywhere in the house, which is great. However near bed there is only one each side which are occupied by the table light. It would be useful to have multiple power suckers next to pillow positions to charge phone and Apple Watches overnight. one of the wooden board shelves near the bed was loose and inclined. -For kitchen a few kits would be useful: a brush with handle to brush greasy pan, a drying rack to dry washed dishes, a mop with long handle to mop the floor (easily dirty near sink). Read moreSuper bright, clean and comfy apartment in the perfect location. Beaches (5 mins), Old Town Lagos (15 min) and Ponta da Piedade (20 mins) all within walking distance. And super easy access to the boardwalk to the cliffs (2 mins). Super comfy and clean bed and well thought out arrangement of towel hangers, hooks and lighting. New/modern AC worked flawlessly during the warm daylight hours but we didn't really need it at night in early October (there was a wonderful cross breeze if you opened the balcony door and the bedroom window). The kitchenette was perfect with all the necessities (2 burners, microwave) to prepare a simple meal. Also great wine stems, glasses, coffee cups, dish detergent, towels, etc. Nice balcony views from apartment 2A, although I think the 3rd floor apartment views would be much better. Great communication with the property manager, Pedro, who was super friendly and helpful. A thoughtful and much needed welcome package (two ice cold beers and a bottle of wine!) was waiting for us on arrival after the walk from the train station. Also surprisingly good food and friendly service at the restaurant on the ground floor (Grilled Dorado as fresh and expertly prepared as any fish I ate in Portugal!). We had a wonderful stay at Apartamentos Pinhão and I highly recommend...
Read moreOne of the best places I've stayed, and reasonably priced. With views over the Atlantic, and only a short walk into town or to a quiet beach, Aparthotel Pinhao is perfect for a beach getaway in the Algavre. The staff are fantastic. I was running quite late due to strikes on the Portuguese rail network, and rang ahead saying I'd be arriving at past 10pm (the time reception closes). Not only did they stay open for me, but I was also given a complimentary bottle of wine, and a free room upgrade to one with an ocean view. It really made my day. The rooms have everything you might want, except for (as I found out after buying a frozen pizza), an oven. Overall, this is a place I would highly recommend for anyone from budget travellers...
