A big smile greeted us on the street adjacent to the path to Praia do Pinhao ( Beach). I believe this friendly young man may be our server's brother. After a gorgeous day enjoying local beaches, we found this gem and will certainly be returning. Our server, Surya ,treated us like royalty. He and ( his brother?) were quick to find a location for our bikes, fill my water bottle with refreshing cold water and be patient while we got seated. They took care of so many details : folding our napkins, rearranging the table and offering assistance in such a non intrusive manner.

The food was scrumptious. We shared a prawn pakora and each enjoyed the fish burger , salad , fries and coke .

While we were seated a beautiful couple hesitated at the entrance. We told them how good the food was and to encourage them to go in. The man pointed to himself and said with such pride “ Katmandu , Nepal” and at that moment Surya came out and announced this couple were his parents.

Warmth, kindness and respect radiate from this family. Mother and father’s names are Chandra and Tul.

They were kind enough to permit a photo that sadly I cannot seem to include. This visit to their restaurant will be a highlight of my first trip to Europe.

A strong regard for this family is not enough. You need to see, feel and taste this wholesome...

When I saw the reviews I got excited to try this place, 4.6 is an amazing rate but that was not at all our experience:

The staff was extremely nice, both of them gave us the best treatment possible, but that was the only good thing about that, after everything went downhill

They had a very strong incense burning in the restaurant, we thought that was weird not letting the restaurant smell like food. It took forever for the food to arrive, and the restaurant was basically empty

But let's go to the important part, the food. One of the plates had shrimp, and the shrimps were still so cold that it looked like someone had just been removed from the freezer and thrown on the plate. The food had a bad taste, and it didn't look good

We don't know if this was a very unlucky day and the restaurant is really good (that's a shame), but the experience was so bad that was by far the worst thing that happened with us in our 15 days trip to Portugal

Again, I hope this was an isolated incident and the restaurant really deserves...

Watch out for currency conversion fees! The food is okay and quite cheap. But they seem to “scam” you into paying 5% currency conversion fee when paying with international credit cards. We happened to hear an argument between a customer and them earlier about currency charges and that their waitress selected to convert currencies on the device without asking, but thought it might have been an accident. There was a big argument going on between multiple waiters and the customer. However, the same happened to us afterwards too - even though we said we want to pay in EUR and without asking the waiter just secretly tapped on the card terminal and on the receipt we noticed we were charged in USD instead of EUR + 5% extra charge. Very bad deal considering nowadays most cards have free currency conversions included. And since there was just a big argument about it in the restaurant before, they just seem to be ignorant about it and do...

We visited this restaurant twice and were thoroughly impressed both times—with the food, the service, and the welcoming atmosphere. We had the traditional Portuguese seafood and fish stew, cataplana, which was absolutely delicious and served with boiled rice and ensalada mixta (mixed salad). We also tried the robalo (sea bass), which was beautifully cooked and full of flavor, as well as a mixed seafood and fish platter that included grilled salmon, tuna, shrimp, and mussels—all perfectly prepared. A lovely touch is that the staff offer small complimentary treats to guests. We received mango ice cream and shots of cherry liqueur, a traditional Portuguese alcoholic drink. I highly recommend this restaurant—amazing food, professional service, and a warm, relaxing atmosphere!

Came here for a late lunch. A lot of other places shut at 2 or 2 30 until dinner but this was still open luckily. We got the grilled sardines as well as grilled octopus. The server mentioned it could be spicy but I told him to make it as spicy as possible. It was delicious, maybe the best thing I've eaten in Portugal so far. It was spicy for Portuguese standards but a medium for mine. The sardines were so good too. Cooked perfectly and they fell off the bone easily. We chose to sat outside even though it was quite windy and the servers were very nice and offered for us to move inside if we needed. We liked it so much here we went back the next day and both ordered the octopus (bit forgot to ask for it spicy! Whoops.) it was still great though, cooked so well.

Simply amazing! All the dishes were very tasty and the quantity more than fair, so good value for money also. We came here 4 times and regretted we did not discover it earlier. At the end of our stay in Lagos I can say here we found the best food. The fish and seafood plates come with vegetables and baked potatoes included in the price, very well and healthy cooked. The mix with the Asiatic cuisine is also very interesting, prawn curry was very tasty, so were the noodles. They also have meat dishes for those who prefer but we did not try those. Instead of running through the crowded city center to catch a place on a restaurant for dinner, do come here and enjoy a calm and quiet meal, you won’t regret it! The service is fast, polite and very clean!
