Throughly enjoyed my stay there. Room was cozy and came with AC, fan and a hair dryer. It wasn’t noisy at night as the cafe and restaurants below close around 10-11pm. Location was in the old town and walking distance to the beaches and bus terminal. Shampoo and body wash was provided, along with 2 bottles of water. Thought there was supposed to be a microwave oven but there wasn’t.

AVOID AT ALL COST!

Unless you're like us who booked at the last minute during peak season and couldn't find anywhere else. We already knew that there's going to be a noise problem due to the fact the rooms are above their busy restaurant that pumps out loud lounge music from 8am to midnight (sometimes til 1am). So don't expect a good sleep, if it's not the music then it's someone shouting in the middle of the night because the guest house is just next to the town square. And you can't shut the windows because it gets so hot, so you'll have to sleep with the noise.

The accommodation at first seems passable, but when you look closely there's not really much cleaning done. There's only 1 bathroom per floor to share between 4 rooms, the bathroom is just a shower and toilet with no toilet seat cover, there seems to be also a shortage of toilet paper constantly. There's always these bizarre rose pedals inside the shower as decoration which blocks the drainage.

We stayed 4 nights at the guest house, when asked if there's a hairdryer to borrow the owner took upon himself and said would look for one, but we never saw him again. Then the next day I asked one of the restaurant staff where is the owner because he never gave an answer on the hairdryer, the staff answered with a bad attitude said she doesn't know where he is and doesn't know if he'll come back, and pretty much told me to go buy my own hairdryer and "deal with it, this is Portugal!" and sent me away. Ok so I accepted that this place is not only not equipped to accommodate guest requests but their attitude is really bad, I moved on. But the last night we bumped into the owner who finally showed up because he was checking someone in, he saw us walking down stairs and made a snide remark at me "Did you get your hairdryer? Just kidding!! Haha" I looked at him and I asked "Is that supposed to be funny?" So not only he didn't want to accommodate me, he mocked me for asking one? He then chased me downstairs and started arguing why I asked his staff that he promised me one, at that point I'm thinking are you f.king serious? He was arguing with a guest on something so trivial? He never gave me an answer after the first day so am I not allowed to follow up on it? I have never stayed in a guest house or hostel where a hairdryer is not provided. I have stayed in remote places and don't expect to see one and that's fine, but this is the Algarve where they make their money off tourists!!

This was our first time and first day in Portugal and I find their hospitality especially appalling. The time when we have to ask for toilet paper because there's none on any of the floors, the staff handed out 1 roll and gave a bad look.

For 50€ a night, we highly recommend somewhere else to stay. Not only you won't get a good sleep from all the noise, you'll be treated...

My partner an I booked a weeks stay at Bora Dormir in a double en-suite room. We were late arriving which we had already advised the staff of when booking but due to our airport transfer we were even later than expected for check-in. We called the guys and they kindly waited for us to arrive and were very understanding. ||The communal areas of the guesthouse were very clean with classy decor and modern mood lighting. Our room was the same, with clean towels, water and fruit provided for our arrival. ||The communal areas were all cleaned daily as some rooms have shared bathrooms, with our room being clean halfway through our stay with towels and bedding being changed.||The location is perfect for a stay in Lagos. A very short walk to the town square / centre but not too close as to be disturbed by noise. Some previous reviews have said that the area is noisy but we personally didn’t agree and had no issues with noise at all despite the town being very busy during our stay.||The only recommendation I would have to the owners is to make it clearer what exactly is included in the breakfast at the Bora cafe situated below and opposite the guest house, if you choose breakfast in your booking. This said the cafe has a great menu and the fruit juices are fantastic!||I would highly recommend Bora Dormir and we will be using them again for our...

Chose the Bora Dormir over an AirBnB based on the recommendations of some others. The room was spacious, well lit, and the bed was very comfortable. The hosts were very pleasant and offered up answers to any questions I had and made some very nice recommendations. The location was absolutely perfect as it was a short walk anywhere whether to the town square, the marina, the train station, or the mercato. I've read that some folks though the noise level was too loud. It wasn't during my stay which was in mid October, but I could see how it might be in the heart of the Summer when the town's population increases six fold. M||||My only complaint was that I was under the impression that i was staying at a B&B, and boy was the breakfast that was included disappointing. You had a choice of juice OR coffee(Not both) and a choice of toast and jam OR ham and cheese on toast(Not both). This really doesn't constitute breakfast to me, and to make matters worse, I was informed on Saturday night that the cafe is closed on Sunday so I would have to put my breakfast order in by 8:00 PM. Imagine my surprise when that meant that they were making my breakfast now and I could keep it in my room until the following morning. Nothing like toast that's been sitting out...
