GeIícia - Italian Gelato - Lagos — Restaurant in Lagos

Gelicia is without a doubt one of the very best ice cream parlors I've ever been to. While the "standard" flavors are very good, some more out-of-the-ordinay offerings are exceptional (limoncello ... WOW). To get a pistachio like that, you must use the real stuff, instead of the artificial flavors & colors so commonly used elsewhere. Still slightly too sweet for me, but that is just me. The flavors on display are changed pretty often.

Living just a few km away, we visit regularly. Two negatives : it is definitely not cheap (but in a touristic town like Lagos ...), and the summertime queues are a real pain. Five stars...

As an italian, Gelicia is the only place where you can taste the real gelato like in Italy; I looked for it here in Lagos and there’s absolutely no compare in quality. I like to taste the pistacchio everywhere because I think the taste of it really reveals if gelato is made with good artisanal ingredients and its quality and I can confirm it’s absolutely excellent. (And let’s say that it’s the only place where price, the cheapest in town, is absolutely in balance with the quality). I love the staff too, they’re so kind and ready to laugh in your motherlanguage ahah. For sure my trusted...

I didnt get the chance to try the ice cream even though it looked amazing. Because of the owner serving us, he was so rude, mean and arrogant that me and my friends decided to not buy and leave. He kept screaming next, even though we told him we were together and we needed sometime to pick a flavor. He started slamming the sliding door of the icecream freezer, he had the most annoyed, angry and arrogant look on his face, he didnt bother to hide how annoyed he was, since the first minute we got in. I dont recommand it, there are other options close by with better attitude...
