Blue Bairro Guesthouse — Hotel in Lisbon

Extremely disappointed by this accommodation! I had made not one but TWO reservations to stay in this guesthouse with my boyfriend, one at the beginning and the other at the end of our stay. Reservation was made 1 month in advance! But less than 24 hours before our arrival (the night before), we are notified by Booking.com (automatic notification without any word of explanation or apology) that the establishment has cancelled our reservation due to an overbooking (supposedly)! I sent them a message via Booking.com to get some explanation but no response from the establishment. I then sent back several messages via the second reservation on Booking.com asking them politely and kindly to confirm that this one would not be cancelled like the first one. I never received any answer, even though I insisted, and I was always polite, despite my irritation. I ended up cancelling myself before I had to pay a cancellation fee. I've never had such a bad experience with an accommodation in terms of communication, as if they didn't care about their customers at all! Really, it was a ZERO quality of service! Luckily Booking.com helped us find alternative accommodation, and refunded us the price difference, they were very nice and professional. I advise you to think twice before booking at Blue...

The only place I have ever stayed with GLASS DOORS to the rooms....painted over with a lick of white paint. But when the huge florescent lights are on in the hall, your bedroom lights up like an airport runway!!!! No way to sleep at all.||No sound proofing, so with high ceilings, complete old wooden floors, gaps around every single door and window, and stoner guests that like to cook with music on at 2am in the 24hr kitchen, there is NO way to have any peace or quite or sleep.||You could get more sleep in the train station.....for free!||And no management. Like at all. They took my money, no receipt, and no reply to emails or calls or booking.com messages.||Shared bathrooms, only 2....always busy. Had to buy a bucket to use while there.||Oh, and no toilet paper either. And mold and damp in the walls and the whole place smells like incense, assuming that's why there are people cooking at 2am!!||For 100 a night, there are WAYYYYYYY...
