The bedrooms location is great, you are very close to Bairro Alto, Cais do Sodré, City Hall...all this tourist attraction. The room was very nicely cleaned and organised, good space, the bed is very comfortable, the floor where the bedrooms are located is well decorated, good facilities, complementary cakes, fruits and water are available 24h at the apartment. The build is nice historic, proper Portuguese feeling. The breakfast was amazing, I mean VERY GOOD. You can see that where thing is freshly made on the day, plenty of cakes and fruits are available, fresh made scrambled eggs, vegetables, toasts. The are where the breakfast is served is beautiful decorated and have very relaxing atmosphere. I was very impressed. The whole place is cute, cozy, welcoming, relaxing. I am not sure if I was comfortable with some of the staff attitude, I was waiting to do my check in and there was another guest ahead of me, from nowhere a taxi drive walked in and started an argument with the guest in front of me, the taxi drive started to physically abused of the guest and the hotel security guard and the receptionist didn’t really interfere, which caused a negative impression straight way for me. The location where the breakfast is it is no in the same building as the rooms, you will have to walk to another hotel to enjoy the complementary breakfast, which is fine, but this need to be specified on the Hotel description. The Apartment can be very noise, and I must say during my stay there was an American woman who waked up at 5am to have a Skype call with her relatives. At 3am I was waked by a huge argument on the road where the apartment is. Unfortunately the apartment doesn’t have a receptionist available there IN THE APARTMENT to help you with this issues during the night, you need to call the other hotel to inform about your issue. I think the team could start to mention to all the guest that this is a relaxing apartment and that they should keep noise down...
Read moreI am not in the habit of writing reviews with just one star. This is extremely uncommun. But this hotel deserves it! It is a rip-off! I have never encountered such incompetent people at the front desk. Worse: they lie to you (one tells you you have to pay another extra fee for your room because the dates were moved and the other, barely 1 hour later, tells you you do not need to because it was already paid (which ended up being the case)!) (on another occasion -i stayed there for several days- one tells you you don't need to change rooms and the other -on the same day- tells you you need to and blocks your old room access and forces you to change rooms -and maybe he is right; i do not know; just they have contradictory information). Also, the rooms at rua das Flores 105 are tiny. I mean super super tiny; you can barely walk around the bed. If the hotel was cheap that would be fine, but they are charging you a super expensive price for a very cheap return. And there is no elevator at Rua das Flores 105. So you need to walk up and down the 3 flights of stairs with your suitcases (there is also no porter to whom i would have gladly given a tip for him to carry my suitcases). A total rip-off. Finally, and to conclude on a positive note, i wish to say that the breakfast is good and the cleaning ladies are impeccable...
Read moreThe staff are very friendly and the place is beautifully decorated.
The common areas are so pretty and like something straight out of a magazine! It was also such a nice touch to have a breakfast spread out every morning. The location was also perfect for tourism!
My only disappointment was the room. We booked one with a 'private balcony and sea view'. The balcony is actually shared with no privacy, it's very small and the limited sea view is only there if you look to your right.
The room itself was so small, the bathroom was tiny and dark, there was no point in having lights in it as they were so dim. As a woman who wants to do hair and make up, it was hard to find a nice spot since there wasn't a plug socket that worked next to the mirror. I had to stand on the bed and do my hair with a hunchback.
We also felt like we didn't have much privacy, as we could always hear people right outside our door watching TV or lying on the couches. There was also one girl just sitting in the rocking chair during the night, staring into space which was pretty creepy.
I do recommend staying here for a night or two, but we paid quite an extortionate price that I think could of got us...
