For our surprise, when we got (my husband and I) to the address informed on the booking website, the guesthouse wasn't there! And none sign of it! After walking around the block, exploring the "supposed" address, checking the email many times to be sure about the location with no success, we decided to call to the number informed and asked for the correct address.
The person who answer, without giving any explanation, asked me to wait there for 10min because he was going to meet us (although, he never asked where we were!). After 5min wait, we called him again asking for explanation and the only thing he said was that he was on his way and we should wait 5 more minutes (this time I informed the address, even without him asking).
When he arrived, we questioned what was happening: why the hotel wasn't at the address informed. He answered saying that we had should wait the 10min for him to pick us up and we were lucky that he wasn't one hour away of us and that his property was a guesthouse and they don't have a reception. Ok! But at the moment of the booking, we informed the property we would be arriving between 15:00 and 16:00 and a few minutes later, we received an confirmation email. We told him that and he replied saying that email wasn't enough because it was just an automatic reply (how should we know that?!). And that he sent us an email asking about the check in, but we never received it! He wasn't courteous at any moment and felt like he was doing a super favour in bringing us to the hotel we had payed for!
Anyway, after 30min late from our expected check in, and 3 blocks away from the "supposed" address, we arrived at the guesthouse. For our surprise (again!), it has a different name as the informed by the booking website!
When we got at our room, the room wasn't the same as the photos!!! It was a nice and clean room, but again we were given wrong information! The man said the room of the photos belongs to him, but it's another property.
And to make things more interesting for us, our room had a shared bathroom. We never stay in places with shared bathroom, even more now I'm pregnant and need to use the toilet more frequently. At least the bathroom was clean and we only had to share with a couple.
So I checked the website and both versions in English and Portuguese say "standard double room", only in the small letters it says shared bathroom.Ok! I missed that and ended up sharing the bathroom, but we travel a lot and never had this problem because the properties usually make very clear (bold and underlined letters) that the...

Read moreThe location was great, the room very clean and comfortable, Diogo was very helpful. We were sharing bathroom with other room but it was never really an issue. Some rooms have a private bathroom. I would highly recommend this guest house and I would stay again. Only 5 min to Santa Justa Lift, 10 min to Plaça do comercio, and 20 min to Alfama. We didn't need to use any public transport, just to go to Belem. There's a restaurant right beside it called stasha that served one of the best meals we had in Lisbon.|It gets a little bit noisy at night but it didn't bother us too much. I read other bad reviews and in answer to that, I had no issues with the hot water, no issues with the shower blocking and I knew from the beginning that my bathroom was shared, it was very clear in booking.com. Make sure you arrange to meet up with Diogo if you arrive before check in times, he is no in the premises so might have to send...
