My boyfriend and I stayed at the Guesthouse and had an interesting experience.
Getting into the apartment was a bit of a struggle. The Door Code for the main door to the building is sent after you register and verify that you are, basically you. You have to contact the owner for that. Be sure to do so, before you stand in front of the building. It’s a bit of a hassle and the people staring and wondering won’t help. Just organize yourself, somewhat.
The door to the Guesthouse itself is also locked with a Pin-Code, which is difficult to type in. I sweaaaar, you just have to be lucky when you type it in…it sometimes does not open the door, even if you type in the correct Code.
The room (5) was small, and, in small, I mean, super small. The things inside were the bed, a rubbish bin and holdings for jackets, with two of those hanger thingies. Ah. And sheets, three pillows and a blanket. Plus one for colder days. Opening the room door with the key is interesting and somewhat exhausting the very least too. Be careful not to break it.
The kitchen has exactly one bowl. No other cutlery, plates or just the hint of things a kitchen has. What you will have, is an oven, microwave and actually a nice looking seating area, for the typical “we live on a budget but want a modern looking kitchen”-experience. The kitchen is videotaped. If you want to drink away your misery - lol, it’s a joke - bring a thingy to open the wine bottle, or beer bottle, or anything that cannot be opened with a hand. Because there are no tools for it.
The bathroom next to the door you’ll get into, is in a medium good shape, for German sanitary standards. Basic. The bathroom next to the kitchen is in a bad shape, for German sanitary standards. The floor tiles look cool tho. Sometimes you’ll find the rest of someone’s toothpaste in the sink.
You have a small living area. And a TV. Both you have to share. The password is written in small letters, and no capital ones, remember that.
Notice: The phone number on the sign outside of the Guesthouse is not reachable. Or the person having it, if you call, doesn’t take the call. Go to your booking and try the contact number there, you’ll have better luck.
The area is packed with south Asians, but no need to be sceptical. Remember, India and other countries live differently from you in your home country, most of the time. You will see streets packed with rubbish. Just look out for you and the people you’re traveling with and your stuff, criminality can happen anywhere.
My conclusion: If you need to stay somewhere, for a short to medium long time, on a budget, or because it has to be horribly fast, do it. You will eventually meet lots of people, cool or not so. But if you have more time to look for a nice stay, invest in it. Small details are just not relevant to the Owner, but would be cool as a person staying. Bring loads of patience for the doors, Key opened ones or others, try to stay calm and good luck!
I hope y’all stay...
Read moreI dont understand all the negative comments. Yes, the guest house was placed in “bangladesh town”. But the place itself was super modern and super clean. I don’t see how it could be much better, so 5 stars from me. Only big problem was that there is no reception and there was no way to contact anyone by phone. We were lucky to get in only because another...
