We unfortunately had a very disappointing stay at this flat due to several major issues that made the experience uncomfortable and, at times, unbearable. The most serious concern was a strong and persistent sewage smell coming from one of the bathrooms. The odor was so severe that the bathroom was completely unusable, and despite keeping the door shut, the smell spread throughout the entire flat—into the kitchen, living area, and bedrooms. It caused headaches and made it difficult to spend time in the space. We reported this to the host, who attributed it to the building’s structure but was unable to resolve it. We eventually had to contact Airbnb, who investigated the issue and issued us a 30% refund.
In addition, there is a large construction site directly next to the building. From early morning until evening, constant drilling, shouting, and machinery noise—sometimes causing vibrations through the walls—made it nearly impossible to relax or sleep in peace.
Another major noise issue is the flat’s location directly under the Lisbon airport’s takeoff path. While being near the airport is common in Lisbon due to its compact size, this particular flat is right beneath where planes take off. As a result, every 5 to 10 minutes, loud aircraft fly directly overhead—often low and extremely loud, adding to the overall disturbance.
With only one usable bathroom for our group of six, we also found that the hot water supply was insufficient. After two or three showers, the water would turn completely cold, which was frustrating and impractical for a group stay.
There were also issues with general comfort. Most of the beds were uncomfortable—you could feel the springs through the mattresses—which made it difficult to get a good night’s sleep. The lighting throughout the flat was very dim, and one of the bedrooms had no windows, making it feel especially dark. There’s also a notable lack of mirrors: only one small mirror in a bedroom and another in the unusable bathroom, with no full-length mirrors available, which was inconvenient.
On the positive side, entering the building was straightforward using a door code. The flat itself is a good size for a group and could be a comfortable stay with significant improvements. However, given the serious comfort, hygiene, and noise-related issues, we would not recommend this listing in its...
Read moreWe stayed in this 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom apartment for 3 nights in the middle of summer, and unfortunately the experience was very disappointing.
First, the listing advertised air conditioning, but it was only in the living room and hallway, not in the bedrooms. With Lisbon’s summer heat, the bedrooms were unbearably hot. Only two fans were provided for three bedrooms, and without A/C you are forced to open the windows. The apartment sits on a very busy road, so the constant traffic noise made it impossible to sleep. On top of that, construction in another unit woke us up every morning at 6 AM. Even the A/C provided barely cooled the space, with the living area staying around 25°C.
The building and amenities also had major problems. The elevator light was out, leaving it completely dark, and there were giant cockroaches coming in and out of it. The refrigerator didn’t cool properly because of a huge block of ice that had built up inside. The kitchen had a severe ant infestation—we lost a lot of food this way, and even butter left in a dish was eaten by ants. The internet did not reach the bedrooms, and the phone system to buzz people into the building did not work.
The furniture was also not in acceptable condition. For example, one of the bedroom beds was covered in a fake leather material that had started peeling. Instead of replacing it, they peeled the material further in shapes resembling children’s drawings, clearly an attempt to make it look “decorative.” In reality, it looked ridiculous and unprofessional.
On our first morning, we contacted the management company, reported all of these issues, and at the very least requested an extra fan. They said they would get back to me, but never did. I had to follow up again through their company website, and by the time they responded, we were already checking out. After a lot of back and forth, I was offered a refund of €48. In reality, guests should never have been placed in an apartment in these conditions. A fair resolution would have been at least a 50% refund—€48 was frankly a joke.
Thankfully, our stay was short. If it had been longer, I don’t know how we would have managed. Until these issues are addressed, I cannot recommend...
Read moreHonestly… I really didn’t want to write this review. Because… if I tell the whole truth, I might never be able to book this place again 🤣 (Seriously — my second stay was delayed because it was fully booked for weeks! 😄)
Alright, here’s my honest-to-goodness story from two separate stays — what I personally experienced and witnessed.
As you can see from the photos, the GuestReady team’s professionalism and attention to detail truly deserve a deep bow of gratitude 🙇🙏
I’m a highly sensitive person — if there’s even a hint of an unpleasant smell, dust mites, or anything unhygienic, I react immediately with allergies. But to my surprise, during both stays, I could comfortably use everything in the apartment without any reaction. That level of cleanliness — the kind that allows me to fully relax — is extremely rare, even compared to my stays in Japan 🇯🇵. I was genuinely amazed and deeply grateful.
To be fair, there were a few small hiccups along the way, but the support team handled them with quick, efficient communication and solved everything perfectly.
And the cleaning staff — absolute gems. They even remembered some of my little habits and made sure that when I returned, the place always felt personally cared for. Those thoughtful touches really moved me.
Now, here’s the cherry on top: I’ve loved watching airplanes take off and land since I was a kid. This apartment gives me a front-row seat right from the living room! Watching the sunset while planes glide across the sky — that’s pure inspiration for someone who works online.
The kitchen? Also perfect. Since I follow a ketogenic diet, I often prefer places where I can cook for myself. GuestReady made it easy to maintain my routine — and let’s just say my abs agree this was a good decision ✌️
Alright, I really should stop now — otherwise, it’ll be impossible for me to book this place next time 🤣
So I’ll let you discover the rest of the great experiences yourself.
Huge thanks to the entire GuestReady team — you’re amazing! Wishing you all happiness, good luck, and smooth days ahead 🎉 See you...
