I recommend this restaurant so much! We had a great time in a Portuguese ambiance! The staff is really nice and welcoming, this local restaurant respects the tourist but keep its authenticity, and this is something so important. The food is good and fresh, and again the atmosphere is really friendly and it's like "you feel at home"! I remember having the chance to cut the ham with the staff, an experience funny and unforgettable because I don't speack Portuguese and I was shy to do it wrong. 😂Hoppefully they speak English which is so necessary for people like me. The only cons i can say is the wine, we ask for 2 glasses and we had a jug of red wine, that wasn't so good by the way .. I thank the barman of the hotel Ibis nearby to advuse us this restaurant because it's a nice choice! If you want to watch a game, the restaurant has TVs! You can eat there either between friends, family, but even couple! I loved sharing my experience, when you had fun and took pleasure to eat in a restaurant I think you should say it.

DO. NOT. GO. HERE. Basically a few reasons. I’m 100% Portuguese so take it from me. 1. They RIP you off. In fact when the check came they added a “tip” line. Now, in Europe tips are included in your meals. You CAN give extra, but it’s your discretion, NOT AUTOMATICALLY added. 2. This is a tourist trap. 3. The food SUCKED 4. I have no clue where the people on here would even think this place deserves 2 stars 5. The fish u was served was LITERALLY from the Grocery Store - Pingo Doce/ Lydl. How do I know? Because the next day I bought the same fish and made myself. Meal at 1/8 of the cost.

In terms of local colour, five stars. Food - I ordered olives but they never arrived but they weren't on the bill. The green vegetable soup was delicious. I had the seafood rice, which was very good and what I expected. My wife ordered veal steak, cooked medium, but it came rare and very, very tough. The menu also said stir fry vegetables but all she got were a few sprigs of brocoli. The waiters ran around - quite literally ran - like headless chickens and at times, it was difficult to get their attention. The restaurant was heaving the night we were there - midweek in May 2024.

Without doubt the rudest waiter I have ever encountered works at this restaurant. We reserved a table for 8.30pm, and turned up at 8.30pm only to be made to wait outside. After 5 mins I said to the waiter "We have a reservation for 8.30pm" - there were empty tables waiting to be cleaned and laid out - he took out his phone, looked at the time (then 8.35pm) and said "But it is 8.35pm now, it is too late". We then waited another 28mins to be seated at 9.03pm. As a different waiter seated us (without menus or asking us what we wanted to drink) I asked him for a carafe of house white, as I could see it was going to take a while to get served. He nodded. 20 minutes later, no wine, no menus, nothing from any waiter. The two locals beside us, who were behind us in the queue had already had their drinks served and bread on their table, and had their order taken. Tried to catch waiters' attention and they all ignored us. Eventually another lady on a different table had to ask the waiter serving her to come to serve us as she had seen how long it was for us to get served. When the waiter came - a pleasant enough young man, who apologised for the wait - we explained we had ordered a carafe of wine, now over half an hour earlier, but nothing had come, so could we order some wine? We asked his advice on a nice dry white - his response: "I don't know, I don't drink wine." Honest, if not helpful. Anyway, we ordered some wine, and had a look at the menus (about 9.30pm by now and no food or drink). The waiter returned with the wine, along with the original waiter who brought the carafe of house white we had asked for 30 minutes earlier...too late bro! After the wine was sorted and food ordered, the first course came without too much delay or drama. To be fair the prawns and clams were both good. No complaints on that front. Then second course was due, and the very first waiter (phone checker guy) arrives with knives and forks. He places mine on the table but slams my partner's knife down so hard the couple on the next table look up (different couple to the two guys who had been served, eaten and left before we got our first course, despite being behind us in the queue...maybe they booked for 7.30pm!). When my steak arrived it was missing the rice, promised on the menu. When I asked the miserable first waiter where the rice was, he said it wasn't on the menu and didn't come with the dish - despite the guys beside me having the same meal, with rice. He even went to get the menu, to prove I was wrong. Unfortunately for him, it said very clearly on the menu "rice" which I pointed out to him. He shrugged as if I was lying and said it wasn't included. At this point I'd had enough and told him he was without doubt the rudest and worst waiter I had ever encountered, anywhere. And before you think I'm some over-entitled tourist, I spent a long time working as a waiter in a very busy Covent Garden restaurant, so I do know what a pressured service can be like. This guy was just rude and inefficient...and possibly racist given my partner is black, and he seemed polite to other people. The food in this restaurant is OK, and reasonably priced for what you get, but the service is appalling. If I could give this zero stars as a dining experience, I...

Just had dinner/supper in this restaurant with some colleagues, some of them are vegetarians, a customer group totally ignored by the owner(s), but besides this, the food was mediocre at best and overpriced. The dishes were not cleaned properly, barely one part of those were clean, something that is not tolerable as it endangers the own health. But the worst part is, we, my colleague and me, got scammed, we did the mathematics and did not end up with the price on the bill, we were about 20€ below what the bill states, and it wasn’t for service either, which was terrible in my opinion and the opinion of the others in the group, as it went well above the usual 10-15 percent. The atmosphere was way too noisy, not a lot of space. Unfortunately the bill wasn’t in english too, though everyone at my table ordered in english, and we all were first time customers, and no one of us does speak Portuguese. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to anyone and wouldn’t visit it again, not even if I am starving. On a scale from 0 to 10 with ten being would visit again for sure, i would give a solid 0. Have a great...

A few negative things about our experience here:

Our waiter was not courteous at all.

We were served some appetizers that we did not order and were charged €6.00 for them, plus they were not very good.

We asked for our check and since it was taking forever, we had to get up and act like we were going to leave. Then the waiter got us the bill with an attitude and placed (slammed) it on a table, instead of handing it to us.

I never play the “victim” or the “racism” cards, but I must admit I felt a bit discriminated, perhaps because we did not speak Portuguese and we physically look of hispanic descent. I could be wrong, but that’s how my wife and I felt.

The food was average. Paying their prices for the kind food and service they provide, is overpaying.

My message to the owner: work on improving the quality of service. Tell your waiters to be courteous and to warn them about the appetizers not being a courtesy of the house. Let customers choose whether they want to order them or not, don’t just force them to eat them. For all the above reasons, I am never visiting your...
