The location is good and that seams the only thing can be appreciated. The room itself is old but that’s fine with us. Here are the unpleasant experiences happened to us: We stayed 6 nights here and one of the lift out of service since D1 we checked in, the other lift also spoiled on our D3 so we had to walk down the stairs form L8 in the morning and climb the stairs up to L8 at the night but the issue eventually resolved on the next day so that’s fine. On our 3rd night a guy whistled and making banging noise outside our room in the middle of the night which was disturbing and scary specially for 2 girls traveling alone. In our 6N stay we asked for house keeping 3 times. The first two were good until the last one we found the room key we left in the room in the morning was gone when we returned to the room that night. When we called the reception, the answer from the lady was “ according to the hotel rule, any room key left in the room must returned to the counter after house keeping. That’s bcoz the room key is hotel’s property not belonged to the guest”. I hv to say that was the first time I heard this kind of ridiculous thing over the 20+ countries I hv been to. The concern was the interruption of electricity when the room key removed and we had yogurt in the fridge. Plus who knows if house keeping ever passed this room key to anyone else before returning to the reception!? Anyway the concern been feedback to the hotel when check out and obviously there’s nothing can be done at that the moment except for those useless apologies. Overall I can only give this hotel a 2/5 and will not recommend to...
Read moreI stayed 4 nights due to work and would never stay again. The place is a bit of a joke. As soon as I got to my room, I noticed it smelled like a second hand store. You know that vintage smell? The moldy clothes smell? Horrible. It must’ve been in the carpet or the faux leather headboards. I thought if maybe if I kept the window open it’d disappear but by next morning it hadn’t gotten better and felt gross because of the smell. I asked the front desk if they could do something about it. The best solution that they came up with was spraying the room, which did help for a day. After that, I kept on asking them to redo the spray but one staff member kept on saying that I need to turn on the water taps in the bathroom and that’d make it go away (ofc it didn’t). The following day I asked again and housekeeping sprayed the entire hotel except my room 😅 Worst is that the smell got into my clothes and hair. Now I have to get my coat dry cleaned and my hair still smells. They didn’t even offer to move me to...
Read moreThis is a wonderful hotel with a great location. Only 15 minutes from the airport, and easy to walk anywhere around town or a quick drive or cab ride. You are one block off of the main street, with access to the water (downhill) or the main park (uphill). There is plenty of shopping, high fashion, food, and things to see within walking distance. The staff was very friendly, spoke English, French, and of course, Portuguese. The room was a good size, with a nice control of temperature. The bed and pillows were very good, and there were plenty of outlets for powering up devices. Bathroom and shower had great water pressure and temperature. Maybe the strangest and best thing I love about Europe is how hot the shower and tap can get! The breakfast in the morning is included and has a bit of variety with eggs, meat, breads, and fruit. Also some great tasing juices and there was wine available. Hope you enjoy this place as much as I did....
