Lisbon Canaan Boutique Apartments — Hotel in Lisbon

The apartment was in a good location and walking distance to a lot of places. We had a 3 night stay here. Four ladies, two Mums and two daughters. I didn't book the place, my friend booked for us all. The apartment was character full clean and comfortable enough but communication with the host was impossible. To get into the apartment we had to enlist the help of the shop keeper next door to contact the host for a code to get in, we we're standing outside with our luggage, luckily the weather was good! (After our departure, we passed and saw the next guests in the street with luggage presumably having the same issue as us ! )When we finally got in, I was slightly disappointed that there wasn't even a bottle of water or milk in the fridge. Can't remember arriving anywhere before with a totally empty fridge. The coffee machine made cold coffee and apparently someone was sent up to look at it but didn't make a difference. The first night was very noisy with people above doing what sounded like DIY. We loved Lisbon and had a fantastic time but just felt frustrated by the lack of communication...

I had a reservation at this hotel in Lisbon, but my flight was unexpectedly canceled. I contacted the hotel to explain the situation, hoping for some understanding or even a partial refund, but they never answered my calls. When I finally got through to someone, they were incredibly rude and dismissive, showing no empathy for my situation. Despite it being entirely out of my control, they refused to offer any kind of refund—not even a small percentage. Their lack of basic decency and the gall to treat a guest like this is appalling. Dealing with this hotel only added to the stress of an already frustrating experience. I was hoping for some understanding or flexibility considering the unforeseen circumstances, but instead, I was met with complete indifference. If you’re looking for a hotel that values its guests and offers any sort of customer service, do yourself a favor and avoid this place. An absolute disappointment! First of all, the kitchen has so little things in it comparing how big the apartment is. We were 5 people staying there and constantly were experiencing lack of plates, mugs etc. Kitchen knifes were almost unuseful. Just imposible to cut or slice something. At first it looked like a place is great, but when you stay there for more than one day, at once can feel how many tiny everyday things are missing just everywhere.
