The menu boasts a diverse selection of international and contemporary dishes, each meticulously prepared and presented. The variety of wines, cocktails, and beverages complements the culinary offerings perfectly. During my visit, I had the pleasure of savoring the duck magret and the confit cod, both of which were exceptional.
The service is where Em Alta na Baixa truly shines. Our waiter, Rui, was exceptionally attentive and helpful, enhancing our dining experience with his professionalism and warm demeanor. His recommendations were spot-on, and he ensured that every aspect of our meal was enjoyable.

Read moreGiven the prices of the food you would expect the service to be exemplary so I will not shower too much praise on this place for its service. They were attentive, friendly, the hostess knew English and happily explained certain elements of our dishes. Our food took a long time to arrive (over an hour) as they delivered everything at once (we were a table of 12 and some people may have ordered more than one item.) I tried the octopus, it was a decent attempt but the excessive use of garlic and oil could not make up for how the spinach was cooked. The spinach was boiled. Slapped onto the plate barely drained. A massive let down given how flavourful the octopus was. Everyone's food was VERY oily, it was as though the chef was afraid to let the quality of the meat/fish shine through which I did not expect for its proximity to the waterfront. I would recommend the nacional anthem (it has ginjinha) it's cherry flavour and ice makes it a nice addition to a warm afternoon meal. Note that the gin and tonic was huge by comparison. Overall a nice experience (service, drinks and atmosphere) but I would not recommend it as I think for the price there are better places in...
