We were given the worst table in the restaurant, despite having a reservation. Right by the front door. Diners would come in and out and leave the door open, leaving cold air rushing in.

Our order was taken after 10 minutes. Our appetizers didn’t show up until half an hour later. At no time while we were waiting were we acknowledged.

My wife ordered still water for €2.50. It was 500 ml. I ordered sparkling water. It was €2.85, for 250 ml, a ridiculously small bottle to accompany dinner. The sizes were not listed on the menu.

Our appetizers were the beef carpaccio with pesto and garlic bread with mozzarella cheese. Both were good. We both had pasta dishes for our entrees. The portions were small but tasty.

After we finished dinner, the waiter asked about dessert. We asked to see the dessert menu. He disappeared. We had to flag the server to see it. What we ordered from the chalk board menu, we were told 5 minutes later they were out of. We asked for the check.

Here’s where things got bad. I tapped my credit card on the terminal and the server immediately took it from me. She turned away and then handed me the receipt. She had chosen without permission to convert the euro charge to dollars, with a 4% additional charge.

I asked the for the waiter and he made excuses and offered me €5 for the extra fee. I took his offer and left. They seem to have made a business decision to rip people off and make up for it if caught.

We told people waiting outside that it was not worth it. They left to find a...

Came here reading the reviews but very disappointed. They had a menu for Italian and a menu for Portuguese traditional fare. That was a warning sign. Should have left.

This is not an authentic Italian restaurant. Staff don’t know much about Italian food.

Have been in Portugal for 4 days and every meal we had was fantastic except this.

Meal itself is ok…but not to the same standard as the other venues we had been to. Pricing is above average so one would expect quality to be above average too.

The table we were at also had the bad smell wafting from the toilet with bursts coming whenever someone went into the WC. Another reason I had to write this review is due to the managers inability to take feedback and his desire to argue the feedback.

Advice to owner - Be authentic! Don’t try to be everything to everyone. Your staff need to know what good looks like.

Seeing I have been very critical about the food, service and ambience, I will give you a gold nugget that will assist you in turning this around and reshaping your venue into a real hospitality venue. Read Unreasonable Hospitality by Will Guidara. Also available on Spotify...

Terrible food and slow service. We had a child with us who is allergic to cheese at dinner. First they brought garlic bread with cheese. We had to send that back. The child ordered pasta and they sent the plate covered in Parmesan cheese. We had to send that back too. I ordered a Caesar salad and what I got was unrecognisable. My friend even double checked if that was a Caesar salad to which they replied yes. It was a mix of greens and arugula, tomato, red onions, and crispy onions. Not even the dressing was a Caesar salad dressing. I ordered my salad without croutons because of gluten intolerance and my salad came covered with crispy onions - which are battered and fried. The chicken was hard to bite. It looked like the chicken was grilled 3 days ago and left out in the sun. I’m not a picky eater and rarely complain about food, but I came to this place because it had good reviews and I simply can’t understand how. I wish I had taken a picture because I’m not a picky eater but those were 3 strikes when it came to allergies and they were not responsible or liable about it. I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT! BE CAREFUL IF YOU HAVE ANY...

The restaurant was a bit busy when we arrived, and the atmosphere was very nice. Lucky for us there was a table. My daughter and I both had a Linguine Pomodoro (hers was with shrimp). Our experience was that this was one of the best pasta dishes we have ever had! We both had many pasta dishes in the past, and much more sophisticated than pomodoro sauce, but this one was simply amazing! It’s hard to explain, but both the pasta and the sauce were simply perfect! I also had the Greek Salad. It was good, but the dressing was not exactly for my taste (I think it was balsamic sauce which I wouldn’t expect for Greek Salad, but some people may like it better). Our waiter was very nice and the service was perfect 🤩 While I didn’t think we’d eat in an Italian restaurant in Lisbon, I was happy we did 🙂

We stumbled upon this place among a hoard of restaurants. Nice and refreshing that while many of the others were trying to pressure you into taking a seat Pizzaria Tapas La Familia was not. Just friendly, welcoming staff and unsurprisingly the busiest restaurant on the street that we could see... So we went in. Good solid menu and food was tasty. We had the diovola pizza and bruscetta. Both were tasty and fresh and did more or less what you'd expect. The service and atmosphere were both nice and didn't disappoint. The food wasn't a low point or inedible, but it was excessively oily. Not that it spoiled the meal but we did need to pour excess oil off the plates to avoid it being overpowering. Overall however it was nice and delivers on what you'd expect for the location and price point.

When I checked into the hotel with my wife, we were hungry and Google'd for restaurants in the area. Pizzaria Tapas La Familia was around the corner and had great ratings, so went there to eat. The food was great and drinks were cold (White Sangria & Beer)! We had the Tomato Bruschetta and Garlic Bread to start. She had the Chicken Caesar Salad and I had the Grilled Dorada. Finished with Tiramisu. We really enjoyed our time over the food and chats with the attentive Dipesh. Lovely place, we'll definitely go back for another lunch or dinner to try the pizza and/or tapas menu before we leave Lisboa! Forgot to take pics of the appetizers, wife's Caesar Salad and as you can see - took bites of the Tiramisu and remembered lol before devouring it - so good!
