Lisbon Chillout Hostel — Hotel in Lisbon

I can honestly say this was the WORST experience of staying in a hostel i have ever had. ||After paying for the room, one week before arriving we received an email saying we needed to provide 100 Euro deposit in Cash prior to entry. We were greeted with obnoxious staff and rooms that can only be described as put together with what the owners found in a skip outside. ||||The staff continued to be hostile to our group at any opportunity (including taking photo's of us) and on our final night some of our group returned to the hostel to find our keycards had been blocked and the staff having called the police on us. Granted we were a large group and did make some noise but being falsely accused of being violent towards other guests and staff was a complete lie. ||||2 hours of negotiating resulted in only getting 1/2 of a £3,000 deposit and being chucked onto the street at 2:30am after having caused no damage to the property or any ill effect toward any guests. ||Whilst this was going on one member of staff tried to fight 2 of our party on separate occasions including taking his shirt off and swinging for someone's face ... shock he missed! ||||HIGHLY do not recommend !!!! - I havent even mentioned the dirty bathrooms, lack of showers, and photo's used on the website of a completely...

This is worst hostel I have stayed in EVER! They do not offer the services they say on hostelworld and the staff all except one were extremely rude, condosending and had no customer service skills what so ever. We stayed for one night and checked out a night early as we were so unhappy. (Also we were told no one was able to issue a refund as the owner was away - so we have lost over €40). A couple of key problems: No parking (we had to park over 30mins away), No drying facilities for laundry when raining, the member of staff on duty told us we were unlucky and then laughed, The room smelt awful - like dog poo, Cigarette butts spread through room (probably added to the smell), Other guests clothes clothes all over the room and floor, Showers we ridiculously small and smelt like stale urine. Large number of school children drinking in the hostel while on a school trip,

On the morning after our stay we waited to speak to the Manager Anna who laughed while we explained the problems and was finding the issues funny while joking with other staff members, she was then very reluctant to give her name and uninterested in offering any help and told us to write a bad review and had no care or regard for the hostel customers. We stayed in a 4 bed dorm. Bed and room were very clean upon check in, however the place definitely needs substantial upgrades and maintenance (is currently undergoing renovation). Doors and ceiling are coming apart in the room.

The lockers in the room are only just big enough to fit 1 carry on sized suitcase or backpack. The beds are creaky & the outside street is very loud, it’s impossible not to have the windows open at night with no fan or air conditioning.

The only showers in operation are on the ground floor, they are clean enough but the water pressure is weak/disappointing and temperature control is non existent (either freezing cold or boiling hot), there are toilets on each level but they are tiny.

The front door entrance is so low with no warning signage, you hit your head almost every time coming in or out of the building.

WiFi worked well and staff were friendly and helpful. There’s a nice beer garden outside. Location wise it’s close to the centre and easy to get around, would avoid using the bus system as they are constantly late or don’t show up, use Uber or Bolt instead (incredibly cheap).

Overall, it did the job for a few nights but for the price you could easily find a nicer hostel or private room on Airbnb that would likely be more...
