I have to say, I haven't been this disappointed in a long time. Please note, that the rooms are very small with minimal closet storage but that wasn't an issue for us. Our issue was the room was filthy and looked like it was still being renovated with spackle clearly visible on the walls. It doesn't take much to paint over this. The room's appearance suggest lack of care/maintenance. The blackout curtains had multiple holes in it, which made it difficult to get any proper rest, with light shining through the curtain. The shower wall was covered in what looked like scuff marks, while shower floor had some kind of tacky material stuck to it, I had to use shower shoes in order to use. A basic toiletry such as lotion was not provided ,at least not the room we were in. The room also contained a safe that wasn't securely bolted to the wall. You could literally carry the safe with you, which defeats the purpose of using the safe. Why have one in the room at all? At almost 300 euro per night, we honestly feel conned. Definitely not worth it. The only positive aspects of this hotel are the location and the staff. Edited to add: I'm adjusting the rating due to the professionalism of the staff and the accommodation of an alternate room. We were also informed that because of the sustainable material used, the coating used in the bathroom exhibits variations in color and is not dirt or scuff marks (though it appears that way but it still doesn't explain the tacky texture of shower floor in original room).Apparently the safes are not secured in anyl of the My Story brand hotels, though I have no idea why, so take that for what it's worth.Try to book 200 euros or under.

I stayed with my friend for a 2 night 3 day trip to Lisbon. I came to the hotel easily from the airport. In general, transportation from Lisbon airport to the city center is very easy and cheap. With a 1.80 euro metro card, you are in the city center in 45 minutes. After getting off at the stop closest to the hotel, I reached our hotel in 5 minutes after a short walk even though it was midnight. (You come to the hotel in Rossio Square by walking on a flat road in , ). The most cheerful receptionist I have ever seen welcomed us. She was very kind and very attentive (I don’t remember her name but thank you very much). We settled into our room easily. My favorite surprise about the room was the 2 natas they offered. I think I was very tired so I remembered it as the most delicious nata I had in Portugal. The room was a bit small since an old building was converted into a hotel, but it was enough. There was a hallway with a sofa at the entrance, after passing the hallway there was a bedroom. There was a sofa, table, coffee machine, heater, mini bar, two TVs in the room. The entire room and the bathroom were meticulously cleaned. The sheets and towels were clean and ironed. There were also bathrobes and slippers in the room. The materials in the bathroom, such as shampoo and hand soap, were of a quality brand. The breakfast was sufficient, although not very diverse. I especially found the dessert section very successful.

The location is very good, right on Rossio Square, so no complaints there. The front desk staff was a little underwhelming when we arrived, but nice when we left. We ended up cutting our visit short - not completely because of the hotel, but we decided to fly to Funchal on Madeira island since we had been to Lisbon a few months before for a cruise. We paid for the entire stay which we knew we would have to do - no problem there. The room was small, but you get what you pay for and the price was great. Breakfast was fine, and there are lots of shops and cafes nearby. This would have definitely been a 4 star review, but there was a major problem with the bathroom which you can see in the photos we've added. I don't know if it was black mold or not, but we looked up above the window and saw a lot of it. It seriously affected our enjoyment of the room and was one of the reasons we cut the trip short. I hope they get in there with some bleach to spray it down and remove it. It was probably the psychological effect of seeing it, but I definitely didn't feel great staying there.

I spent a 5 nights at My Story Rossio and here are some of my thoughts:PROS:- Excellent location. Hard to beat this prime location. It's at the heart of the city with lots of things to do in proximity. There's also a Metro station across from it so you can take the subway directly from the airport.- Nice decors and overall pretty clean.CONS:- The biggest issue I had during my stay was the poor structure of the building leading to disturbing loud noises. During housekeeping hours, the door to the cleaning supplies kept being slammed. Every time it was slammed, my whole room shook and I jumped up. I called the front desk asking if they could be more gentle with the doors. I was told that that was the way housekeeping was and to call back only if it still happened after 5pm (after housekeeping hours). It was impossible to get any rest during the day. I understand that housekeepers need to do their job but I wonder if this issue could be fixed simply by changing the door hinge to a slow close hinge. Also, in the middle of the night, I would wake up by the creaking noises of people above me when they walked across the room.- Second issue was the thermostat. It was not adjustable and could only be controlled by the front desk. For some reason, the hotel decided that all the rooms needed to be in heating mode during the night. It was so hot and stuffy that I was not able to sleep for many nights. I had to call the front desk in the middle of the night to turn it off but sometimes it would automatically switch back on. Then I requested to have the cooling instead of heating on but it would be too cold at night and there was no way to dial it myself. So throughout my stay, it would feel like being inside either a sauna...

I booked a room with the Rossio square/castle view despite being a light sleeper because online reviews praised the soundproofed windows. Unfortunately, as soon as checked in I noticed my original room had a leaky window and I could hear quite a bit of noise from the activity outside (including outdoor restaurant tables, hiphop performances, traffic etc). Maintenance promptly responded to my call but was unable to fix the window on the spot due to a missing part. The only option was to move me to the room next door, except it was noticeably smaller... so I had to choose between sleeping well or "downgrading" the space I had, although technically it was the same room category. ||Being a light sleeper, I didn't chance it but the whole experience left me disappointed, knowing I had to forgo the more comfortable room and bathroom because the hotel couldn't offer proper soundproofing. The entire process consumed one hour of my day, and I could still occasionally hear the clapping and music from hiphop in my new room, but thankfully those wrapped up before bedtime. Overall not a great impression, despite the front desk's valid efforts to try and correct things as possible. ||The location is very central and easy to walk to most places, otherwise hop on a tram or the metro. ||The bathroom in my second room was very tiny and did not have body lotion, which was something I missed while traveling with just a carryon. ||Breakfast (which was graciously comped due to my room situation) was okay, convenient to have at the hotel but nothing special. ||I'd say the overall value was not there for me; expected more from a room costing €220/night. Feels like Lisbon used to be cheaper in my first visit but this is no...
