It was a nice experience to shop at the store, but unfortunately, canned food falls short in terms of taste. Prices are pretty high for canned food. Yes, it's a nice initiative, it's a unique place, but after all, what's selling is sardines, and it's ridiculous that the price is high when it's not tasty. There are many different tins that you can choose from though, as you can purchase a tin from any year starting from 1916. The sardines aren't actually that old, the tin is just labelled and decorated with a year, so you can take a brief walk through history as you explore the years, as each tin lists notable celebrities that were born in that year, in addition to a significant world event that occurred that year.

In terms of the actual sardines themselves, I can't comment on the taste, as each tin was extremely expensive. But what you're paying for here isn't really the sardines themselves. It's the experience of the "carnival" and for a keepsake. I wouldn't be surprised if a substantial portion of the tins sold never get opened.

If you're in the area, it's certainly worth having a look and spending a few minutes exploring the shop, but it's not a place that I, personally, would go out of my way to seek out. Also, if you're looking to try some sardines, save yourself some money and stop by the local grocery...
