This store, named The Fantastic World of the Portuguese Sardine, which is owned by the Comur brand and attracts attention with its colorful design reminiscent of an amusement park, sells canned fish products, especially Portuguese sardines.

We can say that the aim of the store dedicated to the Portuguese sardine is to gain popularity and present it to the consumer through a journey through the history of the sardine and Portugal, without losing the Portuguese tradition. As you wander through the store full of sardine cans, you take a little trip to the last hundred years of the world. Since 1916, there is a different box for each year, and these boxes contain information about an important event of that year or the birth of a famous person. A different color was chosen for each decade.

I can't say the cans were great in taste, but shopping in the store was a good experience. It was a nice experience to shop at the store, but unfortunately, canned food falls short in terms of taste. Prices are pretty high for canned food. Yes, it's a nice initiative, it's a unique place, but after all, what's selling is sardines, and it's ridiculous that the price is high when it's not tasty. I recommend you visit, but I hesitate to give any advice...

This is a pretty fun store that feels like you're in a carnival or amusement park. It's colourful and visually stimulating to say the least. Dedicated to the sardines of Portugal, the walls of the shop are basically lined with a single product - canned sardines.

There are many different tins that you can choose from though, as you can purchase a tin from any year starting from 1916. The sardines aren't actually that old, the tin is just labelled and decorated with a year, so you can take a brief walk through history as you explore the years, as each tin lists notable celebrities that were born in that year, in addition to a significant world event that occurred that year.

In terms of the actual sardines themselves, I can't comment on the taste, as each tin was extremely expensive. But what you're paying for here isn't really the sardines themselves. It's the experience of the "carnival" and for a keepsake. I wouldn't be surprised if a substantial portion of the tins sold never get opened.

If you're in the area, it's certainly worth having a look and spending a few minutes exploring the shop, but it's not a place that I, personally, would go out of my way to seek out. Also, if you're looking to try some sardines, save yourself some money and stop by the local grocery...
