When a person travels with another, be it friend, family or foe, make sure it’s someone with a sense of direction. My sister is not that person! We had taken a bus to the town of Fatima the week before the celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the apparitions witnessed in 1916 and 1917. ||With directions in hand, I followed my sister down one street to the next, up and down hills, around corners and roundabouts to streets without numbers or signs and make-believe confirmations of locations to prove we were going in the right direction. Mind you all this with heavy backpacks for our overnight stay. After two hours of walking, I was about to throw myself in front of an oncoming car to end it all when a sign (a real one) with the name ‘Aldi’s’ finally appeared in the sky. This grocery store meant that our hotel was near. It was. Just across the street.||Pros:||Although this is listed as a hotel, I thought of it more like a hostel.||The desk clerks were polite and friendly.||The room was clean and decent. A no frills budget stay.||Nice size rooms with a dorm size refrigerator.||The balcony and window had exterior metal doors that, with a push of a button, roll down at night for safety. We had good views of the town.||Its location is less than a 15-minute walk from the Sanctuary of Fátima.||A grocery store across the street as well as a café.||The bathroom provides a bidet.||There is a dining area downstairs but we didn’t use it.||Cons:||Our room came with a basic full and twin bed. The furniture reminded me of pieces purchased at IKEA. Some of the stack tables were worn or warped. A used lime green couch provided seating.||The bathroom is somewhat small. I found that the bathtub had too many strands of hair in it prior to use. ||Overall: If you a looking for a good night’s sleep at an affordable rate, Imperhotel...
