I had a fantastic experience at Island Bliss Hostel. After trying a few other hostels during my trip to the Azores, this one really stood out. Everything was exceptionally clean, and the furniture and equipment were in excellent condition, not outdated like many others.
The common areas were spacious, especially the lobby, which had plenty of room for working comfortably. The WiFi was fast and stable throughout my stay, with no interruptions, perfect for remote work.
One of the best parts was the kitchen. It was fully equipped and extremely well-organized. The best I’ve seen in any hostel. The bathrooms were clean and included shampoo, and I really appreciated that both a small and large towel were provided free of charge.
The air conditioning worked perfectly in all rooms I stayed in, and the entire building was free of the usual humidity or moldy smells, which can be a challenge in the Azores.
Staff were kind and always helpful. A special thank you to the manager, who went above and beyond, he recommended great places to visit, arranged my airport taxi, and even helped resolve a check-in issue with my airline.
Overall, I’m truly grateful for the outstanding service. I highly recommend Island Bliss to anyone, especially digital nomads or anyone looking for a reliable, clean, and comfortable...
Read moreThis place has been my favorite while traveling in azores. I wish I can rate 6/5. The location is so good in town : there are supermarkets around, you can easily go to restaurants bar and to the sea. The room are very comfortable and well decorated. I felt very safe in this place : you have code to enter the main door and also to access your room. Having a bath shared by only one room is an asset and they also provide different towels to use for the bath or going to the beach which is very nice. The kitchen is so well stuffed (I’ve never had that much in any hostel I stayed in before). The kitchen is so convivial you easily get to know other guests while cooking. Also, Tiago brings a lot to the place : he is a very nice and caring person : he knows your name before you are here and he’s so helpful in literally everything (you can contact him anytime via WhatsApp, he has good recommendations for activities considering the time you are here, he helps you finding car or flights to go where you feel like going)
You can hear the cars going in the street but it’s very calm at night and I guess that everyone brings earplugs when going in...
Read moreI loved my stay at Island Bliss during my first trip to the Azores and Ponta Delgada. The hostel is new, modern, and super clean. Tiago at reception is very easy to communicate with through WhatsApp. He was extremely helpful and welcoming. As a solo female traveler, I felt very safe there. I stayed in the 6-bed female dorm, which had a small balcony to the interior open atrium. It was very quiet, with little street noise to disturb you. The dorm has its own shower room with sink and toilet room with sink. Big, upright lockers with hangars and keys included. There are charging outlets and lights at each bunk. No curtains though. Breakfast is not included, but the kitchen is lovely with plenty of room to store items you might purchase nearby. There are labeled baskets for guests,...
