There’s not enough words to describe this amazing place. Long-version, shortened, it’s a must-visit. Whether you are vegan, vegetarian, flexatarian, or full-blown carnivore it doesn’t matter. The food is fresh, tasty, and guaranteed to fulfill your taste buds. Aside, from the food, the entire team that helps put out these fantastic dishes are precious. Speak of, a quick shout out to Carolina and Henrique as they truly make your entire visit feel as though you are at a friend or families home having dinner. To say I can’t recommend this place enough, is indeed an understatement. Quick tips, it’s a nice size restaurant, very cozy; so dinner reservations are always recommended, if not required to say the least. Lunch is a bit easier to squeeze in, if and only if you arrive no later than 2:29; as 2:30 they are no longer taking on new guests. So don’t push it and arrive early. I’ve seen people walk away sad and hungry because they arrive late and let’s face it, it’s for good reason as even the staff need a break before coming back to prepare for dinner. Lunch is a must, but even dinner is a treat and a bit of a different experience… Which is a bit odd given the menu is the same; except they don’t offer the very fantastic and great deal lunch special (have to try;) Another thing, menu changes every 6-weeks (amazing). I’m taking a wild guess and assume it’s based on the season. Fruits and veggies available, etc etc. but never really asked, yet. If you are still reading this, stop and just experience for yourself. Or don’t, up to you, but for me, you’ll must likely see me there 2-3 times a week. Super-fan of this place and everyone in it.

Rotas Upon landing in Ponta Delgada and our usual quest for delicious food we found Rotas da Ilha Verde and called to make a reservation for the same day - well they were fully booked (which is quiet normal as we found out later) - and we got a spot for 7pm about 6 days later. Menu is small and all ingredients’ hand selected every morning at the market. The waitress was extremely friendly and jolly and provided help choosing our dishes. The baked eggplant was very flavorful, well spiced and good size. We also had the jackfruit dumplings 🥟- recommend those too. Cannelloni as a main were 200% in terms of flavor. Loved them so much I ignored the salad and sweet potato chips. Dessert the Banoffee Pie was the best I’ve ever had - no sharing with hubby. Hubby had the Pumpkin and Nut Cheesecake - not too sweet and quite light - yes he shared with me. If you don’t have to have meat with every meal this is a great change to the usual Portuguese cuisine - make sure to make your reservation as soon as possible.

This place will warm your heart and your stomach with the friendliness and kindness of their staff and amazing vegetarian/vegan food! The welcoming atmosphere, the soundtrack, the beautiful presentation of the dishes, the fresh ingredients, and the immensely tasty dishes, make this restaurant a pearl in Ponta Delgada. In 5 days, we went to this restaurant for dinner twice. We would have gone more times if our eyes have seen it earlier! We felt always very welcomed and tried many of their dishes. They are simple, centered on vegetables, full of flavor and very well made... It gives you a feeling of comfort that after a long day of hiking/exploring is very nice. We ended up cleaning all our plates completely every time because it was so good!! The portions are generous but please, don't miss the opportunity to try the desserts... They are delicious! Without a doubt, a restaurant that I would love to have close to home. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Azorean Islands :)

What a charming find. This vegetarian restaurant was a suggestion from our hotel. We also told most restaurants on the island require a reservation and that was true here as well. We lucked out only because there was a cancellation. And while we were there eating there was a constant stream of people coming in off the street asking about availability and being turned away. We started with appetizers of philo pastry with vegan sausage and it was so delicious. The other was bruschetta with goat cheese. It was very good but the rice bread is soft so it doesn't hold together as well. But, don't let that stop you from trying this tasty dish. Our main courses were the risotto with black mushrooms which was very good. Our other dish soya balls. I loved it. The portions are huge, so be sure to save room for dessert, something I was not forewarned about. So instead I watched these delicious delectables going to other tables. The staff is wonderful, helpful and friendly

On a narrow cobblestone street is this little gem that would make any vegetarian and vegan feel at home. The owner is a welcoming, warm woman that makes sure you know you’re in the right place for you. The dishes are generous and beautifully served and are very unique and well-thought out with surprises that include homemade vegan mozzarella cheese and edible garden garnishes. The menu is slim and precise as you can expect in a fresh chef’s kitchen but the description of the dishes is not enough, make sure to ask to hear how the owner describes them with her special flare. Best to make a reservation as it’s mostly full.

Simply incredible. Our whole family’s gluten-free/vegetarian so it’s challenging to find a restaurant that has multiple options for us. Normally, If we like something that’s vegetarian, it’s rarely gluten-free. And vice versa. But this restaurant had it all — including FIVE different mains options that were all both veg/gluten-free and looked amazing. The two we chose (mushroom risotto and tofu) were just delicious. And the 3 chocolate mousse was the best we’ve ever had. Put all that together with a relaxed ambience and we’d found our perfect restaurant on the island. Highly, highly recommended.
