Nestled just 50 meters from Sao Bento metro station (not to be confused with the famous train station across the street), Hannah's Studios in Oporto offers an ideal location for exploring this captivating Portuguese city.
Climbing the narrow flight of stairs (the only reason for me to take away one star in my review) to Studio 5 on the top floor, I wasn't sure what to expect. What I discovered was a surprisingly spacious room that served as a perfect home base for my all-too-brief stay. The studio was thoughtfully designed with modern furnishings and plenty of natural light.
One delightful surprise was the cleverly concealed kitchen - so well hidden inside a cabinet that I only discovered it on my second day! This compact kitchen came impressively equipped with everything from a coffee maker and electric kettle to a microwave, fridge, and even a sandwich toaster. Though my one-night stay didn't allow time to make use of these amenities, I appreciated the attention to detail.
Ana, our host, was exceptional from first contact to checkout. She provided clear directions, seamless check-in instructions, and personalized restaurant recommendations that proved to be culinary highlights. Following her suggestions led to a memorable dining experience that, while not kind to my wallet, was absolutely worth every euro spent.
What makes Ana's hospitality particularly outstanding is her flexibility with luggage. She offers the convenient option to store your bags before check-in and after checkout - an invaluable service for travelers with awkward flight times. Ana's responsiveness via WhatsApp is equally impressive, with nearly instant replies to any questions or requests.
My only regret? Not booking a longer stay at Hannah's Studios to fully experience both the comfortable accommodations and Ana's excellent recommendations. For travelers seeking a well-located, thoughtfully appointed place to stay in Oporto with genuinely helpful hospitality, Hannah's Studios is a standout choice.
Read moreStayed here for 2 nights , we stayed in the top studio , room 5 . The room was spotless , everything you needed was here , no Iron though . I asked on Tripadvisor before I came if there was an hairdryer supplied , one reviewer commented and said No , so I took my own , but when we got here there was one in the Bathroom drawers . Bed was really comfortable, nice Coffee machine and Pods , This studio is in a perfect position 2mins walk from Sao Bento train station , also the Metro , lots of little coffee shops either side of the Studio , nice to sit and people watch . Now for the Minus points : There is no Lift , so have to walk up 5 flights of stairs , our room overlooked the main road towards the Station , very noisy ALL night , with traffic , people walking about and shouting , also the room was very light as there are 3 pull down blinds so gaps , meaning the street lights shone in the room , if I stayed here again I would ask for a room on the...
Read moreHorrible service, broken bed, tried to tell us we broke the bed even though multiple bed slats were clearly missing, plastic ends on bed slats broken, won't allow adjustments to air conditioning, dark narrow slippery staircase, lights in staircase always turned off with no switch till second floor, says staff on site - no one there, poor responsiveness, accused us of leaving the window open with air conditioning on (clearly shut and latched), said we were ungrateful when we complained about the bed, terrible entrance, paint peeling in room. Definitely do not recommend it. We even found another review stating a broken bed. Owner even tried to blame us for the broken bed which already had slats missing. Stay...
