We visited Lado B Cafe to enjoy the Francesinha (with egg) which had been recommended to us by Ricardo at Lordien. We would never have discovered this fantastic cafe without his help and would definitely recommend you visit here. We believe the Francesinha here to be the finest example of this traditional dish in Porto, it was delicious and incredibly filling, we visited at lunch time and did not need anything else to eat all day! We opted for the Sangria which was excellent and perfectly made and a good pairing, it was not too sweet. Our waiter advised that we order some chips to go with our Francesinha, which was a good call as the spicy and beer sauce definitely needed something to dip in! The cafe is a real gem and the meals diners who were eating other choices from the menu looked great, we would definitely return here, and recommend a visit when in Porto. Thank you for the best...

I tried the Portuguese speciality along with a beer. Despite being a little visually “challenging”, a sandwich covered in gravel, it was excellent! Steak, sausage and ham with a cheese topping, topped by an egg…. Who would have thought? Apparent it emanates from the napoleonic soldiers meal on the march….. put as much protein as possible between a carb carrier and smother that in sauce, presumably to soften stale bread……. Either way, whatever the original, Lado B is the place. Really good and found through a recommendation. Easy to eat, filling very tasty and…. A pile of protein wrapped in carbs and covered...
