What a great apartment, no one could argue that its not in a prime location. We were very happy with our stay and the supplies that were left for us were ample for the amount of time we stayed. Everything was easy to operate and having a lift was a bonus not that we used it , but to get our luggage up and down it was a life saver. We arrived late and the apartment was easy to get into. The little bite shop underneath which is owned by the same owner was delightful great service and very friendly and helpful staff, we ate there as it was so convenient. We had a wonderful time in Porto and the noise did not disturb us . The apartment was nicely furnished and had all that was needed for our stay. However, on our last day a marathon was taking place in Porto a lot of the roads were blocked by police, unfortunately we could not get out and had to cut through the middle of the race as ozies do if they need to get somewhere. We then towed our bags 1 km up a hill where we finally were able to get a cab at San Bento station to take us to another station where we were too late for our Lisbon Train. This left a very sour note as managers of Porto Sense they should have known of this race and left a message for us warning of road closures and traffic delays, as it was, we left 2 hrs before our train departure but it was chaotic out there. Maybe a little bit of extra service would have been nice by the Managers. Would I stay again? good spot close to everything, nice size plenty of room a little more detail by...
Read moreI booked this place based off of all the great reviews, but upon arriving it wasn’t exactly what we expected and we didn’t actually end up staying here and booked a different hotel. The biggest reason for this being we did not realize there is no air conditioning, and while I know this is normal for many places it was unbearable with the heat wave. The spaces are very nice themselves but also note this is not a hotel and it is apartments (meaning no front desk). Something that rubbed us the wrong way was when we were emailing with them before we arrived they said even though our room might not be ready we could leave our bags when we arrived. We got there and there was a code needed to get in which we were never provided, so we had to call and luckily someone happened to be there to let us in and give us our keys, otherwise I’m not sure how we would’ve gotten them and what we would have done with our luggage in the meantime. The other downside to this place is it is on a busy street and people are constantly sitting on the step out front, and because they are able to see where the code is typed in I am just not sure how comfortable I would have felt with that from a safety perspective. Overall the facilities are nice minus the no AC but it was not what we...
Read moreThe location is amazing. You can literally experience Porto without leaving the apartment. The character and comfort of the apartment were great, and the balcony overlooking the Praça Ribeira. Communication and attention from hosts Christina and Filipe was quick, clear and so helpful, especially in getting transport from airport to a block away (traffic is not allowed in the praça). Getting in and leaving our bags for a few hours (we arrived earlier than anticipated) was a breeze. The queen-sized bed was very comfortable. There is an elevator straight to the room's front door which was very helpful. (But keep in mind there is no elevator up the streets!) ||Lack of air conditioning means leaving windows open on hot nights, which can be very noisy with all the activity in the Praça, especially on weekends. Tall people will find the shower a bit of a challenge. Aside from these minor quibbles, the one-bedroom apartment with its full-length balcony is an attraction in itself. We never tired of walking along the ribeira, up past the Bolsa palace along rua das flores. Miss Pavlova on the other side of Rua de São João (3 min) offers great breakfast items and...
