We walked in and got the last 2 seats in the place. The service was excellent. We ordered the bread, oil, olives and started eating. When we ordered our food and wine, the waiter suggested something different to match our food. We took him up on it and it was perfect. The wife of the owner over heard me make a comment about the pork chop dish i ordered and came to talk to us stating it was her grandmothers recipe which i thought was just a tourist line. After a while the place started to thin out (we were the last ones in) and she came back and talked with us for 15 minutes telling us about family history, her grandmother, and visiting her in the country. The food was wonderful, the staff was great, the owner was simply awesome to meet. This place is small and like most places in Porto you have to walk to get there but it is well worth it. I dropped and broke my phone so i am sorry to say i don't have any pictures because the place is small but very cool. Highly...
Read moreSeriously the best of Porto and one of the best meals I have had. It was a busy night but we were lucky seated for 6. The owners were charming, a husband and wife duo who made us feel more than welcome and comfortable.
The wine was selected but the wife owner told us for a few more euros we would enjoy the wine so much more. We did. We ordered two bottles and everyone loved it.
The food The Paella was incredible and I give it 10/10 as does my fiancee. I give the duck fat cooked rice 10/10 as well meaning I would order it again in a heartbeat. I should be eating another now. The beef was perfectly cooked and the potato chips tasty and fresh. Octopus I didn't try but my sister said it was great and the pork chop looked incredible and tasted better.
The bill was served in a very original sardine can which was a welcomed change from a black check cover which was welcomed by all.
Cannot wait to...
Read moreLoved everything during our experience at this restaurant. Special shoutout to the servers, who were so friendly and open to making jokes with us. The food was so delicious; I cannot stress enough how good the octopus and seafood rice were. The seafood was tender and flavorful. The atmosphere was very nice - they played a lot of songs from the Lumineers, so they had very good taste in music. We paired our food with a white wine, suggested by our wonderful server. We originally did not plan on coming here, but we are thankful we did. At the end of the meal, we were offered complimentary cherry alcohol shots (I forgot what they were called). 11/10. My only issue was where I was seated: I was facing the chefs, so every time I looked up, I was making very awkward eye contact with a chef/employee at any given moment. It felt like I was being watched. Doesn’t take away from the food, though. I was just a bit...
