Solar Da Avenida, Lisbon — Hotel in Porto

Avoid at all cost. According to booking.com reviews, we are not the first ones to experience that issue. We arrived late in the evening and had the bad surprise of having no hot water, after some exchange with the host there was no response anymore until the next morning, so impossible to take a hot shower. The next morning they came to “fix” the issue, 3 people did some back and forth for 1h in the accommodation. After 1h, with barely any apology or any compensation of some sort, we were finally able to take a hot shower. We then proceeded to have our day after wasting most of our morning. When we came back late afternoon to the accommodation, what a surprise, no hot water again. We informed the host, after some time someone came but not to fix the water. It was too much for us and we decided to leave the accommodation and find another place. While leaving, not even a word of apology from the host. To recap, terrible service with no basic comfort and terrible behavior of the host. Also, recurrent issue they are facing but not fixing because most likely they don’t care about...

Nice enough place with a decent location for a walk to town. The bathroom wasn't great, taps and shower head pulling away from the walls. In the suite we had the bathroom and kitchen are an after thought add on so they are very small. Could have been cleaner most of the dishes were dirty the counted still had crumbs on it, the carpets did not look like they had been vacuumed and the toilet wasn't very clean. The bed was clean and comfortable. The worst part was the noise. It was INCREDIBLY loud with the road noise all day and night. Even with the windows and shutters closed it sounded like you were on the street. We were unable to even watch a movie at night because it was so loud. We managed sleep with heavy duty ear plugs so if you are staying in the Royal Apartment make sure you...

We had a terrible experience with this hotel. Upon arrival late at night we had NO hot water at all and high humidity in the room. In the morning the stuff came in to check the issue. They provided NO apology at all and it took 3 people walking back and force to the balcony through our room for 1.5 hours to finally provide the hot water. After that we managed to take a shower to then find out a few hours later that again there is NO hot water. We asked for refund and left. Issues can happen, its how you deal with it that matters, the stuff of the hotel did not apologise or offer any gift on the house, they did not even say goodbye when we were leaving.
