Vila Katharina — Hotel in Zona Metropolitană Brașov

The Vila Katharina is in a great location right near the Old Town. It was easy to walk everywhere I wanted to go. The front desk staff was very friendly and the room was nice. The chocolates in the room were a nice touch.||With only 3 rooms, it's a very intimate experience. My room (Onyx) was huge. With that said, a couple of quirks. First off, the shower in the room was very strange. It was a stand alone unit, almost like a box, a bright red unit & glass on all sides. My room was the art deco room and it didn't match the style at all. Plus it was small and difficult to use.||Breakfast was nice. I ordered the Transylvania breakfast, which was hearty - but be ready for a LOT of meat & cheese :) I would have liked more coffee too, I was offered just one cup but could have had about 10.||I also found the price to be on the high end for what was offered. I'm currently staying at a very cute place in Sibiu, also in a great location, with a fun bar area and breakfast included - easily half the cost of what I paid in Brasov.||Overall, I would recommend...

From the moment I entered the Vila Katharina I knew this was a hotel that felt just right. |Everywhere is so carefully and tastefully decorated in subtle tones and lighting. I was warmly greeted by Satine with a traditional welcome drink of a Plum Liqueur. |The room I was given for the two nights was simply stunning. With period furniture a glorious bed and bedding and once again that tasteful and subtle decor. The roll top slipper bath was such a delightful surprise and the bathroom itself bigger than some budget hotels whole room area that I have stayed in.! Then to breakfast, chosen and ordered the night before was again extra special, the crockery, the presentation, the service and food itself all faultless. |I cannot recommend the Vila Katharina highly enough and if you are staying in the great town of Braşov it has to be the number one place to...
