It was one of my worst experiences. We booked a private hostel room for 2, but when we arrived, the lady told us that the room is unavailable. Also online check-in was a disaster we asked for assistance days before but nobody helped or replied. We could enter the hostel with the help of other guests. The receptionist gave us a room with 6 dorm beds, not the one we paid for (and we are a couple on holiday). Then she said the bed sheets will arrive in an hour (it was already 6 pm), but nobody came. I had to call several times her. She said she will do the beds, we can go out for a dinner. But she started to call us an hour later which are our beds. She also asked if we want her to make the beds or she can leave there the sheets. We arrived back at 8.30 pm and the beds were still unmade. I was calling her again. Than she came and made the beds but it was already 9 pm. There were no lots of guests and I didn't get an explanation for any of the inconvienences just an awkward laugh I felt like she looked us dump. She hold the problem totally irresponsible, careless, and immature. When I told her I want to do a complaint she didn't give me contacts properly and she started to excuse herself. She also said we can cancell and go away but it was night. It was a mess, we were exhausted and it took us a lot of hassle to make the lady do her job. Plus we paid more and got something...
Read moreWe were not very satisfied with our stay. We had a twin room, and the lack of space was honestly the least of our problems. Every sound from the hallway was clearly audible, most likely due to a large gap under the door — which didn’t let cold air in, but rather constant hallway light during the night, making it hard to sleep.
Before even entering the accommodation, we were welcomed by an overwhelming smell from the garbage bins placed right in front of the entrance — and it stayed that way during all four days of our stay.
The shared bathrooms made little sense: just one toilet and two showers for multiple guests. There was often no hand soap available. The elevator was a nightmare, the shared areas were not clean, and the coffee machine was very disappointing — it looked unclean, and on top of that, you had to pay for coffee.
At night, we could hardly ventilate the room properly. Leaving the balcony door open didn’t feel safe since neighbors could potentially access it. Opening the window didn’t help much either, as fresh air couldn’t get through because of the thick curtains.
Towels were not provided, which would’ve been helpful. And although the building appears newly renovated, long stains on the walls suggest leaking pipes.
The one positive aspect is the good location and a smooth check-in process. Bathroom was...
