Hostel Opera — Hotel in Upravna Enota Ljubljana

The hostel is new, designed nicely and located comfortably. The staff was also very nice and was willing to stay longer for my late check-in (which was 20:15, but still kind of them). However, it has a few problems: There is no proper space to store food, the fridge is really small. No actual space for dry food either. When you leave your luggage after check out, it's just hanging by the reception, sometimes unoccupied. Privacy is also a problem. In the unisex bathroom area, the showers aren't really covered besides the glass like you have at home showers. No private place to change either - walking in and out of the shower you might find yourself without clothes in front of guests of both sexes who brush their teeth in front of the shower. I'm really unsure what the designers had in mind; this concept won't fit most guests. The lock in the men's toilet isn't working. Might as well hope people won't open the door too fast. Signs telling guests to "pick hair from the shower" - is this my house or a place I pay to stay in? You have to pay 4€ for towels, but at least it's both a body and hand towel. Shower, the lockers have proper locks with keys, something you don't find in most hostels. Negatives There isn’t any reception and it is not easy to get in touch with employees The door of the hostel was not locked when I came after 2 am, and since the rooms also do not have locks literally anyone can walk in. You basically need to get naked in the common mixed toilet area and then hop into shower and just leave everything by the sinks Not social environment at all, no common area (not really good for solo travelling)

Great location in the city center, with everything close by. The staff is super friendly, and the hostel is very clean. The shower cabin are spacious, making the stay even more comfortable. I would definitely recommend...
