Escape to the Beach - 5 Star Guest House Wilderness — Hotel in George

The highlight of our Honeymoon! We stayed at Escape to the Beach in August for our honeymoon. On arrival we met Sarie who was extremely welcoming and made us feel right at home. The space was much bigger than we expected and the views from every window were spectacular. We made full use of the pool, hot tub and indoor fire to watch the whales migrating - Sarie kindly lent us binoculars to use during our stay. In the evening we were spoilt for choice for nearby (walkable) restaurants and started our night with a bottle of bubbles that was so kindly gifted to us by ETTB in celebration of our honeymoon. We felt safe waking into Wilderness town at night and Sarie showed us a shortcut walkway under the road which is fully lit 24/7 and means that you’re in town within 5 minutes.

We ate breakfast facing the ocean, watching a whale and her calf swim past the house waving their tails - truly unforgettable! Breakfast was 10/10, we had a full continental spread and Sarie made us a hot breakfast to order. The creamy mushrooms and scrambled eggs were beautifully presented and tasted even better!

The house is located directly on the beach, so much so that we walked down the steps of the patio for a run on the beach where we met a baby seal! The view from our room spanned across the bay and could be enjoyed from the bed and in the gorgeous bath. The bathroom was large, clean and the shower had great water pressure. We also loved having fluffy robes and slippers to relax in!

Sarie’s hospitality and kindness was greatly appreciated and nothing was ever too much. We would like to thank Sarie/ETTB for going the extra mile and we feel lucky to have found such a gem in Wilderness.

We had the most amazing stay at Escape to the Beach, a real treat and a couple of days of pure indulgence. We were greeted by Sarie who could not have been any more welcoming and was the perfect host throughout our stay. A true gem and an amazing asset to the property - Sarie runs everything with precision and finesse. Fantastic location, right on the beach and a short walk to restaurants and bars in Wilderness. We stayed in the Southern Right Suite which was luxury in every sense. The most comfortable beds and linens, stylish design and wonderful views of the ocean. Little extras like candles for the bath, sun cream and after sun in the bathroom were a really nice touch. Breakfast buffet was delicious as were hot options from the kitchen and the complimentary drinks and snacks throughout the day made it all the more enjoyable spending time lounging around the pool. We could not have been happier with our stay and would not hesitate to recommend Escape to the Beach to anyone looking for the ultimate unwind. This is a guesthouse that lives up to its name: the welcome from the very friendly hostess Sarie was very pleasant and friendly. We had a beautiful room with a balcony and view of the ocean. On the ground floor there is a very stylish and tasteful living room, in front of which there is a sun deck with a pool. The whole house was always very quiet. The excellent and plentiful breakfast from the buffet and kitchen with numerous types of fruit and everything you can imagine was completely exceptional. There was nothing to be desired here. The hostess also offered us all kinds of drinks such as wine, juices, water and spirits, which are obviously freely available. We stayed at Escape To The Beach for five days and enjoyed every single one of them. In our opinion, you should definitely not spend less than 2-3 days enjoying this hospitality in order to get to know it in its entirety.
