Green Door Guest House — Hotel in George

For the price, this place is not worth it. Arrived and although asked for two separate beds we had to sleep on a double. Only 1x towel handed for two people. Place smelt like smoke all the time as someone was smoking dagga or similar and draws into our room. Then my worst nightmare after I paid per eft and proof of payments submitted. Received a call from “Head Office” claiming we going to be kicked out as we did not pay our full amount owing. The more I tried to explained that I have paid and emailed the proof through the more the bombastic lady on the other side says I must listen to her. She does not give you and opportunity to talk and keeps threatening me and kills the call in my ear. This spoilt my whole day and was extremely upset. Please do not waste your time booking in by this place. This bombastic lady even wanted to fire an innocent employee as she did not do her job according to her. People like this have no compassion or business ethics. Even though I resent everything via whatsapp, all I got was a “Dankie” Close the doors and sell the Guest House to someone that knows how to treat guests as it is this that pays the accounts. I will advise everyone stay very far from this place. That is how I entered from the old year to the new and promised myself Mossel Bay will never see me again. I had an extremely horrible experience at this guest house, not only did my phone get stolen and the manager being very incompetent treating me like im a child each encounter we had speaking about me to other guests, she phoned my partner and got involved in my personal life nothing was done to the guy who stole my phone when he was found he admitted to taking my phone and when she eventually got the police to check the camera's i got my phone back she treated this guy that stole my phone as tho he was like a son to her she wouldn't refund my uncle that had to pay R250 just to bring me lunch and got told to leave, i then got told to leave due to stories she made up. It was just horrible I've never been treated that way but i can say anyone. Horrible experience it was actually shocking looking back. I wouldn't recommend. She kicks people out and keeps their money looks for excuses to act as horrible as possible and proceeds to say if she's not hard the business won't work. Lovely stay @ Ana's Place Apartments.||Did have a few struggles with arrival like the room that wasn't ready even though you can check in from 2pm and it was after 4pm. They had no idea of my amount outstanding and also after that was figured out because of their internet I couldn't pay outstanding amount and they also didn't allow EFT payment. They also didn't want me to check in and pay the other 50% the next morning. We were also not informed that rooms are being cleaned even though the board isn't up for cleaning.
