A hostel which seems to be a bit old. The room was just okay, we stayed in a double room. The whole place could need a proper clean up, everything is a little bit dirty, especially the area with the showers. Two big problems from our view: In the communal area with the pool table and couches, they built up tents for renting. When we stayed there, there was a family with a child staying in the tents, so as soon it was evening, we didn't wanna play pool or sit on the couches, we would have woken up the kid. Our room was next to the kitchen and it was unbelievable loud, the walls are very thin. There are workers staying in the hostel, so they woke up very early and we woke up at 5am because of the noise in the kitchen. Last, the owner (I guess) smoked in the receptionist-area (same area with the tents and the pool table) and the whole place smelled a bit like smoke. Despite of that, the staff is very friendly! The location is very good though because it's in the centre of Mossel Bay, close to restaurants, the harbour and the beach. So yeah, it's okay for one or two nights but we wouldn't really recommend it. It doesn't have a backpackers vibe and we only went there for sleeping and tried to stay out the...
Read moreBooked a few nights, decided to extend my stay, still here busy discovering and exploring. Friendly, knowledgeable staff became like family, sincere and considerate. ||||Mosselbay has a multitude of fun activities, magnificent architecture, breathtaking natural beauty and historical significance that spans across centuries . This colourful laid-back town has some of the most interesting & engagable people I've come across.||||With an endless view over the bay, the establishment is situated perfectly within walking distance to most major attractions and need-to-visit shops and fine restaurants. Sights, sounds and fragrances distinctively identifies the town's character and Miles Crunchers serves as the best location from which one can experience the magic to the fullest.||||Slept like a baby. Some inconsiderate guests had been overly cheerful and pushed their limits, but that was taken care of briefly with a few kind, firm words from the fantastic lady at reception. The building is accessable only by stairs, but overall utilities are sufficient and improving daily. ||||I appreciate the opportunity to getting soaked in the sun and getting sand in my shoes. Will be...
Read moreTerrible place! Avoid at all costs. We made a phone booking, and upon arrival we've been told the lady at the reception forgot to block our room and that someone booked it through booking.com. No one made an effort to let us know in advance and while we were there they only offered us to stay at a dorm room. Besides that the place looks like a refugee camp with tents in the living room. luckily we didn't stay there for the night. Seems like the place is running on reviews from 2 years ago but people should know the place is not what it probably used to be. I've never written a bad review on a place but that's not how you...
