Cocoa Guesthouse — Hotel in Seoul

Absolutely dreadful. I actually think prisoners who have committed heinous crimes get better conditions and more comfortable lodgings at his majesty’s pleasure.||||This ‘guest house’, which was chosen for our tour group via Intrepid travel, is quite frankly, horrible. The ‘beds’ (a term I use most loosely), are like sleeping on the floor. The bottom bunks are practically on the floor, and the ‘mattress’ is harder than concrete.||||The air conditioning unit has a bright blue light, the worst colour of light for keeping people awake, and the rooms are noisy due to the nightclub next door, which keeps the undesirable types supplied with liquor 24 hours a day.||||Upon arrival, nobody was there to greet us, so the check-in was confusing and done via WhatsApp - other social media is available - and the public areas were extremely humid. The only decent thing about this vile place was the shower pressure.||||I wouldn’t have minded, had I only paid £10 per night, however this hell hole is an expensive hostel, and you can decent hotels for a similar price that are much more comfortable.||||Quite frankly, I’d only recommend this place to a person I had a...

Actually me and my friends stayed in April 2018. The guesthouse was very clean and gave a welcoming feeling. Although located in Hongdae(but nearer to sangsu station), somehow it wasn’t loud and were able to get a good night’s sleep. Plenty of restaurants and food joints around that open till late night so you don’t have to worry about going hungry in the middle of the night. Adequate amount of bathrooms available on both floors. There are both unisex and women’s bathroom. So ladies who don’t mind staying in a co-ed guesthouse but aren’t fond of the idea of sharing bathroom with the opposite sex, this is the guesthouse for you. Spacious dining area with wall-mounted TV where you can watch youtube videos on. Clean kitchen with breakfast provided. You can cook your own meals too. Water dispenser and fridge available on the top floor so those staying upstairs don’t have to go down just to get food/drinks. Washing machine(no dryer) available for use. Clean towels provided daily. Staffs were very friendly and accomodating. Definitely a place me and my friends...

Super great location and friendly staff! The kitchen area is so cozy and nicely decorated. Good quality face washes and shampoos are prepared both in the private shower and common area.

We booked a room with private shower, but the bathroom was shared. You will want to be aware of this before booking. Should we know that the toilet was not private, we wouldn't have booked this accommodation.

Somehow I didn't really find the mattress and pillow are comfortable, so I had trouble with sleeping well.

The sound proofing was quite bad. We had to hear neighbours beeping the door lock when they go in and out of the room. And you need to hear that for like 30 minutes if they go in and out to use toilets and showers. The sound from the kitchen area also comes straight through to our room that was located in the corner.
