The One Hostel Hongdae in Seoul – Foreigner Only — Hotel in Seoul

The hostel is run by a group of french people that doesn't care at all about the place or guests, pictures are not accurate, everything is a mess, the staff is the laziest I ever seen, they don't even bother cleaning the floor even when there is dead cockroaches on it. Staff are coughing all the time, specially one of the guys, coughing every ten seconds, never wearing a mask. That same guy was brushing his teeth and spit out everything on the kitchen sink with plates and cutlery. They made you wear this disgusting sandals to use in the bathroom that are never washed, you have to share them with all the staff and others guests, they are full of mold, same with everything in the bathroom all covered with mold. This is the most disgusting place I ever been and the most irresponsible staff ever, incredible really, I can't believe there is people that can live in those conditions. Don't come to this horrible place, you will not have a good time, or even sleep well, they don't put covers on the pillows or change the sheets, this place is worst...

Stayed at the hostel for a night and that was enough for me. If you’re in Seoul to party and be out all night, this is a great hostel, but it wasn’t the right vibe or setting for me. Street noise is very loud at all hours and most guests went out all night and slept till 3pm. ||Hostel is in an old building so there’s no elevator (and 4 flights of stairs), painfully small rooms and old bathroom/shower combos. Common areas are smaller too but there is a nice rooftop for fresh air. Laundry is available but takes a very long time (staff does it) so build that in. Took 4 hours for mine to get done with no queue.||Hostel is also very cluttered. There are boxes, hanging bedding and junk just everywhere. I almost didn’t recognize it from the photos. I’m sure there’s no storage due to it being an old building but it doesn’t make a great impression. ||Staff is nice and speaks good English.||Personally I won’t stay again but depending what you’re looking for, it could be...

My experience at this place was very disappointing. When I arrived, I greeted the staff, they ignored me (said hi but didn’t talk to us or acknowledge us after that emotionless Hi ) and continued speaking to each other in French, giving the impression they were talking about us. They didn’t assign beds to us or show us around. Just told us our room was upstairs. Later that night, I found someone sleeping in my bed, forcing me to use an unmade, uncomfortable bed instead.||The atmosphere stayed unfriendly, and when my friend left a review about our experience, the staff responded by accusing us of being rude instead of taking responsibility. FYI we were NOT at some point we gave them the same energy back and that’s that. Overall, this place felt unwelcoming and unprofessional.
