Hongdae Restaurant GIT TTEUL (korean bbq) — Restaurant in Seoul

I’ve eaten a lot of amazing pork in my life, but this is the BEST kbbq pork i’ve ever had. They specialize in pork (no other meat is sold here) and it’s so juicy and tender. We got their pork neck and belly platter and it was expertly cooked and tasted amazing.

Our server Mr Hong spoke english was very friendly and funny!! He also cooked our food expertly, and explained the history and background of the restaurant.

Their side dishes/banchan taste great, and we also ordered the soongdung red pepper paste stew, which was so delicious, even the pork inside the soup was so amazingly tender.

The price is also so reasonable! For 3 girls, we ordered 750g of pork, soup, steamed egg and a highball, for about 100k won.

There was no wait because we whatsapped them and made a reservation in the morning.

To be transparent, one thing to note is that they do have a lot of 5 star reviews, but its because you get a free steam egg or drink if you give them a review. Nevertheless, they are truly, truly worthy of5 stars. Food, service, ambience, all amazing.

We had a very enjoyable meal at Git TTeul — the food was truly delicious, and the ambience had a warm, welcoming charm. The staff were friendly and attentive at first, which added to the positive experience.

However, there was one frustrating detail that took away from an otherwise excellent meal: the rice. As any Asian diner knows, rice isn’t just a side — it’s fundamental to the meal. We ordered rice and reminded the staff three times, but when a bowl finally became available, it was given to a newly arrived table who hadn’t even received their meat yet.

We had already been eating and waiting, and it was disappointing to see our request overlooked so many times despite repeated reminders. It made us feel like the kitchen or service priorities weren’t aligned with the rhythm of the dining experience for guests who expect rice to accompany their main dishes.

With better attention to small but crucial details like this, Git TTeul could easily be a top recommendation. I hope they take this feedback to heart — because the food and atmosphere really are worth...

We managed to scroll along this on Google Maps and wanted to try it, as it got straight five stars each time. When we got in, the service was nice from start to finish. The tables were fully booked, so we were lucky to get into the restaurant before all of the reservation parties. They were very accommodating with our allergies, and kept on coming back and forth from the kitchen to check and tell us the foods that held our allergens. Our waiter, Arisa, was so kind. We even saw her talking to the kitchen, reminding them not to use our allergies in the foods. The food was amazing. They cooked it right in front of us, where it simmered until perfectly cooked. You could see how much thought and care they put into every little slice, and you could really see how much their hard work paid off. I just had to give them five stars for their food, along with the delicious seasoning for the meat. The atmosphere looked spectacular as well. There were posters and signs that really fit in well.
